Baldwin-Wallace: We hear Wayne State linebackers coach Jim Meyer will accept the defensive coordinator job at Baldwin-Wallace.

Ball State: Dante Love will serve as a student assistant. Coach Stan Parrish expects to hire Love as a graduate assistant next spring.

D1 Sports Training: The FootballScoop Staff would like to congratulate the D1 Sports Training staff for the outstanding preparation leading up to the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. We noticed on several occasions the spectacular performances from the athletes that trained at D1 Sports.

Elon: We hear Rich Skrosky will coach the quarterbacks and John Strollo will coach the offensive line. Elon is expected to name a new special teams coach soon to replace Shane Burham, who joined the Iowa State staff 2 weeks ago. Former Walter M. Williams HS head coach Sam Story joins the staff as a volunteer assistant.

Fresno State: BYU graduate assistant Micah Alba has been hired to coach the corners. Randy Stewart has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Former Eastern Washington assistant Joe Wade will coach the running backs. Former San Jose City College offensive coordinator Keith Williams will coach the wide receivers. Tim Skipper will serve as defensive run-game coordinator. Linebackers coach Will Plemons will now coach the defensive line. Tight ends coach Jeff Grady will coach the quarterbacks and call the plays. Offensive line coach Derek Frazier will serve as co-offensive coordinator. Wide receivers coach John Baxter will now coach the tight ends. Baxter will continue to coach the special teams as well.

Idaho State: Former Detroit Lions defensive line coach Joe Cullen has accepted the defensive line job at Idaho State.

Illinois State: Miami (FL) graduate assistant Dan Shula has joined the staff at Illinois State as an offensive assistant.

Michigan Tech: We hear there is an offensive line job open at Michigan Tech.

Portland State: Former San Diego defensive backs coach Brandon Shelby is joining the Portland State staff as secondary coach.

Rutgers: Wide receivers coach Kirk Ciarrocca and offensive line coach Kyle Flood will now serve as co-offensive coordinators. Linebackers coach Bob Fraser and secondary coach Ed Pinkham will now serve as co-defensive coordinators. Head coach Greg Schiano has served as his own defensive coordinator since 2005.

Southern Miss: We Valdosta State defensive coordinator Joe Cauthen is one of three candidate for the open defensive line job.

Tennessee Titans: Our sources tell us the Titans have hired Northwestern defensive GA Rayna Stewart. We hear Northwestern has filled the GA position.

UNLV: Former New Mexico assistant DeAndre Smith has been hired to coach the running backs.

Virginia: Former Cleveland Browns assistant Bob Trott has been hired to coach the linebackers.

JOB POSTINGS:

Saint Anselm College: is seeking an assistant coach immediately. Saint Anselm College is located in Manchester, NH and is a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. The position includes coaching own position, assist in recruiting, practice preparation, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. This is a 10 month Part-Time coaching position, which includes all meals, and a stipend ranging from $6-10 K, there is currently NO housing but it is a future possibility, there is NO tuition remittance available. Proctor Academy (NH): an independent boarding-day school of 350 students in grades 9-PG and located in Andover, NH has an available position for a Head Varsity Football Coach. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Football expertise and coaching experience at the high school and/or college level. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills and enjoy daily involvement with adolescents. Job Responsibilities: The Head Football Coach will oversee all aspects of the football program including leading the coaching staff, recruiting appropriate applicants, and assisting with college placements. Preference will be given to applicants that can teach and are willing to be involved in all aspects of a boarding school community.
