Eastern Illinois: Check the Strength Scoop

D1 Open Jobs: It appears the only D1 jobs still open are at Cincinnati, Colorado, FIU, and Memphis. We hear Cincinnati is close to naming a tight ends coach. Some seem to think former Alcorn State head coach Ernest Jones will end up back with Brian Kelly at Cincinnati. Colorado has yet to officially fill the wide receivers job. Of course, Ashley Ambrose has been named interim wide receivers coach and is on the road recruiting. It appears to us that FIU and Memphis are still with 8 full-time assistants. There is a chance we will have the FIU hire by the end of the week.

Stonehill College: We hear a new wide receivers coach is Pat McCann.

Note: We will have some grad assistant news later on in the week. Also, we hear there could be a shake-up in the recruiting office at a major BCS program. We are working on that for you, as well.

The Coach Tracker: We have spoken with most Recruiting Coordinators throughout the country over the last 3 weeks. If you are just getting back off the road from Spring recruiting and we've yet to speak with you, please give us a call so that we can set up your program with a subscription to THE COACH TRACKER. You can reach us at 225-445-8223 or 662-202-6408. You can also email to request more information.

The Extra Point presented by Wilson

We thought an interesting trend making its way through D1 football is the growing number of programs that dedicate 2 full-time assistants to wide receivers. Here's the list of all 10 programs & coaches:

Arizona: Garret Chachere (Inside Receivers) and David Nichol (Outside Receivers)

Baylor: Dino Babers (Wide Receivers) and Kendal Briles (Inside Receivers)

BYU: Robert Anae (Inside Receivers) and Patrick Higgins (Outside Receivers)

Houston: Jason Phillips (Wide Receivers) and Tony Levine (Inside Receivers)

Michigan: Tony Dews (Wide Receivers) and Calvin McGee (Slot Receivers)

MTSU: Justin Watts (Wide Receivers) and Brent Brock (Inside Receivers)

Texas Tech: Dennis Simmons (Wide Receivers) and Lincoln Riley (Inside Receivers)

Toledo: Jason Nichols (Outside Receivers) and Jason Candle (Slot Receivers / Tight Ends)

Troy: Kenny Edenfield (Inside Receivers) and Shayne Wasden (Outside Receivers)

Tulsa: Mike Norvell (Inside Receivers) and Clarence James (Outside Receivers)

Any idea which head coach started this trend? Email us and let us know, please. And no, it's not Coach Saban. This is the 1 trend he didn't actually start.
