The Scoop

Saturday August 1, 2009

South Carolina State: The school is forcing head coach Buddy Pough to lay off 2 assistants. It appears defensive line coach Gerald Harrison and asssistant AD for football facilities Brantley Evans could be on the way out. Pough apparently is working to get both assistants reinstated.

Pacific: UC-Davis assistant head coach Keith Buckley will be the first head coach at Pacific, which begins football in 2010. Wow.

Portland State: We hear PSU is close to naming a new wide receivers coach. Former wide receivers coach Kevin Strasser accepted the senior offensive consultant job with the Edmonton Eskimos.

Tennessee State: We are hearing that defensive coordinator Rod Reed has added the title of assistant head coach.

West Virginia: Our sources tell that WVU student assistant Chris Demaria has accepted the wide receivers job at Kenyon College.
