Friday August 7, 2009

Friday Morning: Coaches Quick Hits

DePauw University: Matt Walked has just resigned as head coach. Assistant coach Robby Long will take over as interim head coach.

North Greenville University: Brett Hickman has joined the staff as linebackers / special teams coordinator. Hickman previously served as a student assistant at East Carolina University.

Indianapolis Colts: Senior offensive line coach Howard Mudd will retire at the end of the season.

Northwestern State: We are hearing this afternoon that grad assistant Jeremiah Fusicus is being promoted to running backs coach. Our source tells us the former running backs coach is taking a high school coaching job. Also, linebackers coach Darren Drago will not return, and head coach Bradley Dale Peveto will take a more active role in coaching the linebackers.

Missouri: Athletic director, Mike Alden, has received a 5-year contract extension. But Alden, starting his 12th year as athletic director, will still receive the same base salary of $287,375 with a guaranteed annual income of $537,375. Any extra pay for Alden will depend on whether Missouri continues to achieve academic, athletic and financial goals of the department and on Alden's remaining at the school for the next five years.
