Sunday: Coaches Quick Hits

Amarillo Dusters (IFL): Former West Texas A&M assistant (2003) Jon Lyles appears to be the leading candidate for the Amarillo Dusters head coaching job. Former Lubbock Renegades head coach Rodney Blackshear and Spokane Shock head coach Adam Shackleford are the 2 other candidates. Amarillo will announce the new head coach this Thursday.

Memphis: ''There's been no decision made,'' Memphis AD R.C. Johnson said. ''Usually the last fourth of the season is when the agents start coming out. They say, 'If you've got to make a change I've got the guy for you.' We're kind of into that phase now.

''But that's never been a factor in what we do one way or the other. I remain as optimistic as humanly possible, even though we are disappointed (in the football team's 2-6 record). But I assure no decision has been made.''
