Wednesday: Coaches Quick Hits


Northern State University: Head Football Coach position open. Northern State University is accepting applications for Head Football Coach. Bachelor's degree required. The successful applicant will be responsible for the organization and administration of all facets of a successful NCAA Division II football program, as well as supervising the indoor athletic facility. Qualified candidates will possess a successful coaching record, and a commitment to the philosophy of NCAA Division II athletics and the academic welfare of the student-athletes. Review of applicants will begin 11-23-2009. Position is open until filled with a January 1, 2010 start date. Cleveland Browns: Peter King reports the Browns owe over $20 million to former coaches and GM's. Former head coach Romeo Crennel is under contract through 2011. Former GM Phil Savage is under contract through 2012. With the firing of GM George Kokinis, the Browns now owe over $20 to former coaches, assistant coaches, and front office personnel.

Sioux City Bandits (IFL): Tommie Williams has been named head coach. Williams previously served as offensive coordinator / special teams coach with the Omaha Beef (IFL). Williams also introduced his coaching staff, all of whom worked for the Beef last year. Mike Bonner will serve as wide receiver/offensive assistant coach while Albert Brown will be the defensive back coach, Darren Sindelar will be a defensive assistant and Keith Workman will be special teams coordinator.
