High School Scoop

Wofford: We are hearing that special teams coach Lee Hanning will retire.

Western Kentucky: We are hearing that FAU quarterbacks coach Jeff Brohm is a candidate at Western Kentucky. Again, we have been told that WKU is very interested in Turner Gill.

Murray State: Our source tell us that former Georgia Tech and Miami offensive coordintor Patrick Nix is interested in the job. We haven't heard Jeff Brohm's name connected with Murray State, but it seems to us that Brohm might be an interesting candidate here.

Northwestern: Pat Fitzgerald stated yesterday, "I think I've made my intentions and my feelings about Northwestern crystal clear."

"The support has been unparalleled," Fitzgerald said. "Where we're at right now, I couldn't be happier. We need to continue to do our part to retain our great (coaching) staff and attract world-class (recruits).

"The rest of the things will come. When I came here in '93, we didn't have a lot of (the facilities) we have now. That's encouraging to me. We're just getting started."
