Notre Dame: FootballScoop has learned that Charlie Weis is out.

Murray State: We have heard Mitch Browning's name connected with the Murray State job.

Memphis: We are hearing LSU grad assistant James Alford was not in Memphis today.

Hampton University: We hear the offensive coordinator was let go within the last hour.

Western Kentucky: As of a few minutes ago, we hear that Willie Taggart has not made any hires for the new coaching staff.

Akron: We are hearing that Akron AD Tom Wistrcill is very close with Tennessee offensive GA Mitch Browning. Wistrcill as an associate AD at Minnesota when Browing served as the OC for the Gophers under Glen Mason.

Murray State: We hear Tarlton State defensive coordinator Cary Fowler is going after the Murray State job.

Mississippi Valley State: We hear a change will be made today.

Syracuse: Our sources just told us moments ago that offensive coordinator Rob Spence and wide receivers coach Jamie Elizondo have been let go.

Virginia: Assistants Bob Price and Anthony Poindexter are still working the recruiting efforts UVA.

Nicholls State: We hear Central Arkansas assistant Hud Jackson is interested in the job.

Virginia: We've heard former Tennessee head coach Phil Fulmer is interested.

Northwestern Oklahoma State: Our sources tell us there is some friction between the AD and head coach Keith Barefield despite three winning seasons, 2 conference titles, and 2 playoff appearances. Barefield is 24-9 in three seasons as the head coach. Our source tells us to keep an eye on this situation throughout the week.

Current Memphis assistant John Wozniak is a former LSU grad assistant (2005 & 2007) who joined the Memphis staff this past season. Our sources tell us "Woz" and Larry Porter have a good relationship, so it will be interesting to see if Porter makes the decision to hire John. Don't be surprised to see Porter hire his close friend, Rod Brown, who currently serves as the head coach at Ridgeway HS in Memphis. Our sources tell us LSU offensive quality control Josh Eargle is likely to join the staff. Eargle's wife grew up in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis. Eargle coached the offensive line at Nicholls State before joining the LSU staff a few years back.

Marshall: We heard one of the coaches interested in the job heard Marshall would like the next head coach to keep three of the current assistants.
