Carolina Panthers: Former Buffalo Bills wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert has joined the staff as wide receivers coach.

Tennessee: Earlier this evening, we heard that that Willie Mack Garza has an offer to join the staff at USC. We now hear from the Tennessee program that Garza is not going to USC. Also, Tampa Bay Bucs linebackers coach Joe Barry has talked with Dooley regarding the defensive coordinator position.

Seattle Seahawks: Our sources tell us Pete Carroll is making a run a few big name college assistants. We hear it could be after national signing day when Carroll actually lands at least two college coaches.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Al Everest accepted the special teams coordinator position today.

San Jose State: We are hearing former St. Mary's coach Tim Landis will serve as the special teams coordinator. Also, we hear former UNLV assistant Gary Bernardi will coach the offensive line.

Ole Miss: We hear that Tyrone Nix has added the title of assistant head coach.

San Francisco 49ers: We hear former Seattle Seahawks assistant Mike Solari has accepted the offensive line job.

Tabor College: We hear Colorado School of Mines tackles / tight ends coach Billy Hickman has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Tabor College.

Washington Redskins: Bob Slowik will serve as the defensive backs coach.

Nevada: We are hearing Nevada has interest in UCLA grad assistant (tight ends) Chris Wiesehan for the offensive line position.

East Carolina: The Daily Reflector is reporting that Ruffin McNeill, an alum, will be announced later today as the new head coach.

East Carolina: There are reports that Mike Shula is not interested in the East Carolina job.

Washington Redskins: We hear San Francisco 49ers assistant Chris Foerster is heading to Washington as the next offensive line coach for the Redskins.

Tulane: We hear tight ends / recruiting coordinator Doug Lichtenberger will add the title of special teams coordinator.

Virginia Tech: According to ESPN's Heather Dinich, "The latest agreement for Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster, which was made public on Thursday, states that Foster will be paid $800,000 in deferred compensation if he remains employed at Virginia Tech through the 2014 football season. Should Foster leave before then, he would not receive any of that money."

"The only other qualification to the 2014 date is that in the event Frank Beamer resigns or does not continue in his position as head football coach, Foster will receive the deferred compensation with the effective date of Beamer's departure."

Minnesota Gophers: Our sources tell us Tim Brewster has interest in Washington Redskins offensive assistant Chris Meidt for the offensive coordinator position.

Tennessee: Our sources tell us Derek Dooley has interest in UCF assistant Tim Salem as an offensive position coach.

Clemson: (On Kevin Steele staying at Clemson) Dabo Swinney said, "Regardless of what people might believe, it's a factual statement that money was never discussed in this process with Clemson University."

Steele says, "I've never talked to (athletic director) Terry Don Phillips or Dabo Swinney about one nickel. Not one nickel. And actually did the other. I told Dabo, ‘Coach, if you want to discuss money it's going to offend me because it's not about money.' It came down to practicing what you preach. You preach being fully committed to the process to make something special happen."

Dallas Cowboys: ESPN is reporting that Wade Phillips has agreed to a contract extension through 2012.

Rutgers: We hear PJ Fleck has indeed resigned his position at Northern Illinois to accept the wide receivers job at Rutgers.

UT-San Antonio: Texas State co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Travis Bush has accepted the offensive coordinator position at UT-San Antonio under head coach Larry Coker.

Akron: We have heard that Luke Getsy has joined the Akron staff as a grad assistant.

Contra Costa JC (CA): Berkeley HS (CA) head coach Alonzo Carter has accepted the head coaching job at Contra Costa JC.

Oklahoma: Despite a report in the Tulsa World newspaper, FootballScoop has confirmed that Oklahoma quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel is not interviewing at Minnesota.

East Mississippi CC: FootballScoop has just learned that Hinds CC defensive coordinator Larry Williams has accepted the defensive line position at East Mississippi CC.

Seattle Seahawks: Sherman Smith is interviewing the Pete Carroll for the running backs job. Former USC assistant Brian Schneider will be a part of the Seahawks staff.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Idaho State assistant Joe Cullen interviewed yesterday with the Jags.

Cornell: Syracuse assistant Bob Casullo is not a candidate. We have heard that Cornell may have sweetened the deal for a coach that interviewed early on.

East Carolina: The Daily Reflector (Greenville, NC newspaper) indicates Kevin Wilson (Oklahoma OC), Ruffin McNeill, and Mike Shula (Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks) are candidates.

Liberty: Danny Rocco's contract has been extended through 2014.
