Signing Day Coaches Recap (Part 2)

Buffalo Bills: We hear former Detroit Lions special teams coordinator Stan Kwan will join the Bills as assistant special teams coach.

Washington State: Paul Wulff is leaning towards hiring a special teams coordinator instead of a running backs coach. A position came open when Steve Broussard joined the Arizona State staff after signing day.

Miami (FL): There was a report earlier that Florida had talked with Miami assistant Michael Barrow. We are now hearing that Barrow will stay at Miami and coach the linebackers. John Lovett will become a walk-around defensive coordinator. Lovett coached the linebackers last season for the Hurricanes, in addition to serving as the DC.

Southern Miss: Former Kansas cornerbacks coach Je'Ney Jackson has joined the Southern Miss staff as defensive backs coach. As expected, quarterbacks coach Blake Anderson will now carry the title of offensive coordinator. Offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic will add the title of run game coordinator.

South Carolina: Defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson has signed a new 4-year deal worth $700,000 annually.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Jamie Barresi will serve as the offensive coordinator.

NC State: Tenuta will have the title of linebackers coach.

USC: There is a report that Lane Kiffin has talked with TCU co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Justin Fuente.

Houston Texans: Our sources tell us Colorado State tight ends / recruiting coordinator Marc Lubick will be joining the Houston Texans' coaching staff.

Texas A&M: Rivals' Tom Dienhart is reporting Tulsa defensive coordinator Keith Patterson could be heading to Texas A&M as the linebackers coach.

Buffalo Bills: FootballScoop has confirmed that Indiana offensive line coach Bobby Johnson will be joining the Buffalo Bills staff as assistant offensive line coach.

Western New Mexico University: We have confirmed that Colorado School of Mines defensive line coach Adam Clark has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Western New Mexico.

Florida: Phoenix, AZ sports radio is now reporting Arizona Cardinals defensive backs coach Teryl Austin has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Florida. We have not confirmed this information as of yet.

King's College (PA): We are hearing Muhlenberg College offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jeff Knarr will be named head coach at King's College.

Utah: Tight ends coach Jay Hill is moving over to cornerbacks. Dave Schramm will now coach the tight ends. Aaron Roderick has added the title of co-offensive coordinator.

Michigan: Rich Rod has promoted grad assistant Adam Braithwaite to outside linebacker / safeties coach. Tony Gibson will now coach the corners and free safety positions. Gibson will also coordinate the special teams units for the Wolverines.

North Carolina State: We hear that former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta has joined the staff at North Carolina State.

Middle Tennesse State: We reported earlier in the week that Rick Stockstill had talked with Wisconsin safeties coach Randall McCray regarding the defensive coordinator job. Our sources now tell us McCray has accepted the DC position under Rick Stockstill.

LSU: Rivals' Tom Dienhart reports that South Florida assitant Larry Scott will interview for the tight ends job at LSU.

Colorado: Former Seattle Seahawks wide receivers coach Robert Prince is joining the Colorado staff in the same capacity.

Buffalo Bills: Assistant linebackers / special teams coach DeMontie Cross will remain on Chan Gailey's new staff. Cross will serve as inside linebackers coach.

Middle Tennessee State: We are hearing that defensive line coach / assistant head coach Les Herrin has decided to resign.

Notre Dame: We have learned that former Cincinnati grad assistant Jonathan Carpenter has accepted the defensive grad assistant job at Notre Dame.

Georgia: According to UGA, new linebackers coach Warren Belin and defensive backs coach Scott Lakatos are getting 1-year contracts. Belin's salary is $190,000. Lakatos' salary is $180,000.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Our sources have just told us the Steelers will hire Duke wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery. Montgomery was 1 of 3 finalists for the 2009 FootballScoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year powered by MUSCLE MILK.

Gardner-Webb: Our sources tell us that Memphis offensive grad assistant Shawn Howe accepted the defensive line position at Gardner-Webb.
