Rice: We have learned that co-defensive coordinator Chuck Driesbach will move from linebackers to safeties. Co-defensive coordinator Craig Naivar will move from safeties to defensive line and serve as the special teams coordinator. Our source tells us that Darrell Patterson is moving from running backs to linebackers and Rick LaFavers is moving from tight ends / special teams to running backs / recruiting coordinator. Also, former Rice quarterback Chase Clement has joined the staff as a quality control assistant.

USC: Our sources tell us Tennessee defensive intern Tyrone Pettaway has accepted the defensive intern position at USC with Lane Kiffin.

Texas A&M: We heard Mike Sherman talked with The Citadel assistant Nick Troth.

Tulsa: After meeting with head coach Todd Graham, Keith Patterson has decided to remain at Tulsa instead of accepting a position at Texas A&M.

NY Giants: Mike Sullivan is moving from wide receivers to quarterbacks. Sean Ryan has been promoted from offensive quality control to wide receivers coach. We are also hearing that Temple wide receivers coach Kevin Gilbride will be joining the staff as the offensive quality control. We are trying to confirm this right now.

USC: There is a report that Justin Fuente, TCU offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach, interviewed yesterday with Lane Kiffin.

Tulsa: There is a report that says Van Malone will be joining the Tulsa staff.

Saskatchewan Roughriders: We are hearing Doug Berry could be joining the staff and Marcus Crandall will likely take over at quarterbacks for Jamie Baressi, who joined the Winnipeg staff.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers: We hear Kavis Reed will be the defensive coordinator.

Florida: Teyrl Austin did indeed accept the defensive coordinator job.

Virginia: Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor will receive a salary of $425,000. Defensive coordinator Jim Reid will be paid $365,000 per year.

Georgia Tech: There is a report that new defensive coordinator Al Groh's salary is $150,000. The $150,000 is much lower than former DC Dave Wommack's $285,000. Georgia Tech, however, will pay Groh $321,000 on by January 12, 2012 even if Groh is not still employeed by the university. UVA is still paying Groh the difference from his contract in Charlottesville.

Texas A&M: We have heard that defensive backs coach Van Malone has left the staff and Keith Patterson (Tulsa defensive coordinator) has indeed been hired according to one report. We are working to find out more.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute: Worcester, MA is looking for an Assistant Football Coach- Intern Position. Job will consist of having full time coaching responsibilities, coaching a position group, and having an area to recruit. Housing, Stipend, and 5 meals a week are included. 10 month position. Chattanooga: Running backs coach Jason McManus resigned.

Vanderbilt: Quarterbacks coach Jimmy Kiser has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Ted Cain is moving from offensive coordinator to special teams coordinator / tight ends. Running backs coach Des Kitchings added the title of run game coordinator. Wide receivers coach Charlie Fisher added the title of passing game coordinator. Defensive line coach Rick Logo will assume the role of recruiting coordinator, with the departure of Warren Belin.

Tennessee: Justin Wilcox will serve as a walk-around defensive coordinator. Chuck Smith has the defensive line. Lance Thompson has the linebackers. Terry Joseph has the defensive backs.

Washington State: We are hearing this morning that Paul Wulff has hired veteran coach Dave Ungerer as his new special teams coordinator.

The Citadel: Former ULM safeties coach Mark Collins has joined the staff at The Citadel as defensive coordinator.

Sacramento State: We are hearing Sacramento State has hired Robert Case as tight ends coach.

Indiana State: We hear head coach Trent Miles has interest in former South Florida assistant Mike Simmonds regarding the offensive line job.
