Tennessee: Former LA Tech running backs coach Chino Fontenette has joined the Vols' staff as an offensive grad assistant.

Washington Redskins: Kyle Shanahan will call the plays.

FIU: We hear Cedric Calhoun is a strong candidate to accept the defensive line job at FIU.

Arkansas State: Hugh Freeze has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Arkansas State. Freeze had just recently left Lambuth University to go to San Jose State as the OC.

Southwest Minnesota State: Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Cory Sauter has been named interim head coach.

South Dakota State: Southwest Minnesota State head coach Eric Eidsness has resigned to accept the quarterbacks / passing game coordinator job at South Dakota State.

LA Tech: We hear Sonny Dykes talked with North Texas running backs coach Shelton Gandy about the running backs job at LA Tech, but our sources tell us Gandy plans to stay at North Texas.

Missouri Southern State University: (NCAA Div. II) in Joplin, MO is seeking applicants for two positions of Offensive Intern Football Coach. These are entry level positions; applicants should be hard working and are looking to get started in college coaching. These positions will include a competitive intern salary. One offensive intern will work with WR's. The other intern position will work as Assistant OL/TE's. Interns will be involved in all aspects of coaching responsibilities including recruiting, position coach, film breakdown, film exchange and practice organization. Valdosta State: Former Valdosta State offensive lineman Garrett Grady will move into the grad assistant position on offense.

Friday: Coaches Quick Hits

Colorado State: Former Florida State strength coach Todd Stroud has accepted the tight ends / fullbacks job at Colorado State. Stroud will also serve as the recruiting coordinator.

MTSU: We hear former TCU and Illinois OC Mike Schultz accepted the offensive coordinator job.

Memphis: Former Portland State wide receivers coach Craig Stutzmann will be joining the Memphis staff under Larry Porter. We are unsure of the exact position, although we do know it will not be one of the nine full-time assistant coaching positions.

Western Carolina: We have learned that Tiffin University defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Mark Rhea has accepted the defensive line position at Western Carolina.

Dartmouth: We are hearing former Princeton linebackers coach Don Dobes has accepted the defensive coordinator job on Buddy Teevens' staff at Dartmouth.

University of New Haven: We hear Hamden HS (CT) coach Scott Benoit has accepted the defensive backs job at University of New Haven.
