BYU: We have learned that BYU outside linebackers coach Barry Lamb has decided to retire. Head coach Bronco Mendenhall will promoted defensive grad assistant Nick Howell to linebackers coach.

Heidelberg University: Our sources tell us that Rhode Island intern Derek Stansberry accepted the defensive backs grad assistant position at Heidelberg University. Stansberry is a former player at Grand Valley State.

Marietta College: Full Time Offensive Line Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in offensive preparations, weekly game-planning and recruiting. Candidates must have college experience in coaching and recruiting. This is an immediate opening, moving quickly will be involved, so serious applicants please. St. Ambrose University (IA): Mesa State running backs coach Jeremy Mercer accepted the running backs job at St. Ambrose University.

St Ambrose University (IA): is still seeking a Part-time Defensive Back Coach. Employment is to begin August 1st The position is designed for someone with defensive experience as a player and/or as a coach. The on-field coaching assignment will be coaching the Cornerbacks. Compensation is $2,225 over a nine month contract. Benefits, housing, and classes are not included. San Jose SaberCats (San Jose, CA): Player Personnel/Football Operations Internship. The San Jose SaberCats seek highly motivated individuals who are looking for a start in the Player Personnel, Scouting, Coaching and Football Operations fields. The position begins during the Arena Football League's off-season and continues throughout the entire season until two weeks after the Arena Bowl in August 2010. The position will include, but not be limited to, the following duties: 1. An individual scouting project that includes film analysis, composing scouting reports and making contacts in the football world. 2. Assisting personnel staff with setting up workouts throughout the off-season. 3. Film evaluation and breakdown; both for the coaching staff and personnel staff. 4. Assisting equipment staff with the setup and breakdown of the field for practices and workouts. 5. Player pick-ups from the airport and for docors' appointments. 6. Prepares scouting reports on prospective players and incoming teams. 7. Researches prospective players and makes initial phone calls and/or mailings. 8. Other duties as assigned. This position is unpaid, though we do reimburse mileage incurred for team business. We ask for a commitment of 20 hours a week from the time that you start until, as noted, two weeks after the Arena Bowl in August 2010. While we are happy to have college/graduate students seeking course credit, that is not a requirement for this position; in fact, most of our interns have already finished college and are looking to get their foot in the door in the football operations field.
