UAB: Offensive line coach Mike Bennefield has stepped down to spend more time with his family. Bennefield spent nearly ten years with Bill Clark at the high school level before joining his staff at Jacksonville State and then UAB.

Northern Colorado: Source tells FootballScoop offensive grad assistant Brandon Maguire is being promoted to linebackers coach.

Auburn: Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has signed a three-year contract worth $1.1 million in 2016 and rising $100,000 annually, as reported by Brandon Marcello of SEC Country. His buyout is set at $1 million and drops by a quarter-million with each season. Defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff will earn $500,000 a year, offensive line coach Herb Hand $420,000 a year, wide receivers coach Kodi Burns $350,000 a year and linebackers coach Travis Williams $225,100 a year; each of those four will work on a two-year contract.

Iowa State: Details of Matt Campbell's contract have been released, via Bobby La Gesse of the Ames Tribune -- in addition to his six year, $2 million contract, Campbell is due a $500,000 bonus for reaching six wins ($100,000 can go to his assistants), $250,000 for a Big 12 championship, $100,000 for a bowl win and $50,000 for a Big 12 Coach of the Year award. If fired, he will be owed the total remaining amount of the contract within 45 days of termination.

Detroit Lions: The Lions have hired Brendan Prophett as their director of pro scouting, per Inside The League. Prophett spent last year as an area scout with the New Orleans Saints, and also has 15 years of experience with the New York Jets where he eventually worked his way up to pro personnel director.

Eastern Kentucky: Eastern Kentucky University is seeking three unpaid intern positions. These positions are available to those aspiring to get into the coaching profession. We are looking for interns on both sides of the ball and special teams. The positions are all off the field positions with no housing, meals, or stipend. You will gain experience and knowledge in working with a Division I FCS football program. The person in these positions will be responsible for assisting a coordinator and position coach with all aspcets of coaching. You will also assist the recruiting coordinator with on campus activities, director of football operations, and other duties assigned by Head Coach and Director of Football Operations. Knowledge of video editing, strong communication and computer skills are preferred. Applicants will be required to successfully complete an interview. Morrisville State (D-III - NY): Per source, Morrisville has made to staff additions. We understand that Kenneth Tinsley, who coached the wide receivers the past two seasons at Bates College (D-III - ME) has been hired to coach the receivers, and Colin Pastorella, who is a former quarterback at Hamilton College (D-III - NY), will coach the running backs.


San Bernardino Valley College (JC - CA): San Bernardino Valley College is looking for candidates to fill their offensive line position. This is a stipend position with possibility of teaching in the Kinesiology department if applicant possesses masters degree in P.E. or Kinesiology. Local coaches encouraged to apply. Job responsibilities will include coaching the offensive line position group, recruiting local high schools, and monitoring athletes for academic success.
