Iron Bowl: There was some coaching genius behind that illegal substitution penalty on Alabama in the Iron Bowl. Some might say it showcases Gus Malzahn's roots at the high school level. Here's what happened.
Kentucky: With their win today over Louisville (7th win of the season), Mark Stoops' contract is automatically extended one year (now under contract through June 2026). The extension is worth $6.25 million per Steve Berkowitz of USA Today (with $4.7 million of that guaranteed).
UConn: UConn finished their season 2-10 today with a 49-17 loss to Temple. Randy Edsall "picks up at least $6,000 in bonuses...they scored first, led at halftime and had better 3rd-down conversion rate" tweets Steve Berkowitz.

Mississippi State: Joe Moorhead is expected to return per multiple reports. Ross Dellenger adds that after a four hour meeting with his AD, Moorhead is expected to receive an extension such that he once again has four years left.

Jackson State (FCS - MS): As we reported Tuesday, Jackson State has now confirmed assistant Sleepy Robinson is no longer part of the staff and offensive coordinator Ron Dickerson Jr. is moving out of that role. TC Taylor will take over as offensive coordinator and Brady Ackerman is moving to running backs. Dickerson is currently slotted to fill special teams.

Rutgers: With still no deal in place with Greg Schiano, you have to wonder if Pat Hobbs is stretching this search until the coach he truly wants becomes available. Stay tuned....
