The coaching profession has lost a good one. 49 year old Kirk Mastromatteo died in his sleep January 7th. Kirk was in his eighth year coaching internationally and had 26 years of coaching experience, most recently serving as head coach of Poland's Warsaw Eagles. Stateside, Mastromatteo coached on several staffs including at Norfolk State and Bethune Cookman. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Coach.

San Diego State: Source tells FootballScoop Brady Hoke is parting ways with Rocky Long's Assistant AD / Football Operations Jashon Sykes. Sykes spent 7 seasons with the Aztecs and had previously served as DFO at his alma mater the University of Colorado. Sykes is currently the Vice President of the Director of Football Operations National Committee and will take over as president after the AFCA Convention. The former NFL linebacker and long time DFO will be a great addition to someone’s staff.

Highland CC (KS): Jeff Hancock has been named Highland's head coach. The former Highland assistant was an analyst at Abilene Christian (FCS - TX) in 2019.

Kentucky Wesleyan (D-II): Dom Centofanti is joining the staff as offensive line coach. Centofanto has previous coaching stops at Elmhurt (D-III - IL), Franklin (D-III - IN) and Western Michigan.

Carolina Panthers: Joe Person tweets that, in addition to Phil Snow as defensive coordinator (which others have reported as well the last several days), Matt Rhule also wants to bring Baylor linebackers coach Mike Siravo with him.

Washington Redskins: Doug Williams has moved out of personnel and into a role as senior vice president of player development. He previously served as senior vice president of player personnel.

FAU: Florida State defensive analyst Stanford Samuels is joining the staff as defensive backs coach, source tells FootballScoop.

Washington Redskins: The organization has parted ways with longtime exec Eric Schaffer, who spent 17 years with the organization rising up to eventually become senior vice president of football operations / general counsel, John Keim tweets.

Northwest Missouri State (D-II): Todd Sturdy, the head coach at MidAmerica Nazarene (NAIA - KS) the last two seasons, has been named offensive coordinator. Sturdy previously served as the head coach at St. Ambrose (NAIA - IA) for 12 seasons as well and has prior coaching stops at Eastern Washington, Washington State, Iowa State, and Northern Iowa.

Washington Redskins: Rob Rogers, who previously served as the executive director of player finance and football research for the Panthers, is reuniting with Ron Rivera, per multiple reports.

Philadelphia Eagles: Two candidates being considered for the offensive coordinator position in Philly are former Lions head coach Jim Caldwell and former Redskins offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell, Tim McManus tweets.

Southwestern Assemblies of God (NAIA - TX): SAGU has an immediate opening for two Graduate Assistant positions, one working with Offensive Line/TE’s, the other working with LB’s or DB’s. Proficiency with Hudl is preferred. Applicants must be able to gain admission into the graduate school program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing equipment, film breakdown, coaching your own position group, promotion and marketing of the program, and possible video coordinator duties. The position will cover 5 out of 6 semester hours and provide a stipend, housing will not be provided. Review of applicants will begin immediately and we plan on conducting interviews at the AFCA Convention in Nashville.

Mississippi State: The school has formally announced the hire of Mike Leach. The release reads in part, "Mike Leach is a proven winner who has established a culture of excellence for nearly two decades as a head coach. An offensive genius and two-time national coach of the year, he has a track record of building programs to national prominence with accountability and a blue-collar approach. We are thrilled to welcome him and his family to the Mississippi State family and look forward to watching our football program grow under his leadership."

Wisconsin: Barry Alvarez has announced the addition of Michael Jackson to his senior athletic department staff as an associate athletic director overseeing development. Jackson spent the past three years as chief marketing and development officer at Northwestern Mutual and is a former Badger student athlete.

Tarleton State (FCS - TX): Head coach Todd Whitten has agreed to a six-year extension to remain with the school through the 2025 season.

Lane (D-II - TN): Lane College is currently seeking a guarantee football game for September 5,2020. Preferably a FCS opponent. If interested please contact AD Derrick Burroughs at dburroughs@lanecollege.edu.

Southwestern Assemblies of God (NAIA - TX): SAGU is looking for a home game on either September 5th, September 12th, or September 19th of the 2020 season. If interested please contact Head Football Coach Ryan Smith at rsmith@sagu.edu.

Carson-Newman (D-II - TN): Mike Clowney, who has spent the past 12 seasons with the program most recently working with the running backs, is being introduced as the team's new head coach. He previously served as the team's defensive coordinator for six seasons before moving to the offensive side of the ball.

Atlanta Falcons: Tight ends coach Mike Mularkey has decided to retire. Mularkey is formerly the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans and previously served as a coordinator for the Steelers, Dolphins and Falcons.

Chicago Bears: Clancy Barone has been hired to coach the tight ends coach. Barone didn't coach last season, but prior to that he spent nine season with the Broncos working with the offensive line and tight ends.

UNLV: Jordan Paopao has been announced as tight ends coach / special teams coordinator. Paopao previously coached the tight ends at Washington for the past seven seasons.

Mississippi State:Mike Leach will be State's next head coach source tells FootballScoop. Pete Thamel was 1st to report the move.

UNLV: Scott Baumgartner, who previously coached the wide receivers and running backs at New Mexico under Bob Davie, has been hired as running backs coach.

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have hired former Browns defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach Joe Whitt, Ian Rapoport tweets.

Boston College: Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, the defensive coordinator at UMass, is joining the staff as defensive backs coach Pete Thamel tweets. Abdul-Rahim previously coached the secondary at Maryland and served as an analyst and then assistant director of player personnel at Alabama. Source tells FootballScoop Abdul-Rahim's title at BC will be passing game coordinator / defensive backs coach.

Philadelphia Eagles: Head coach Doug Pederson has now announced that offensive coordinator Mike Groh and wide receivers coach Carson Walch will not return.

Memphis: Mike MacIntyre has now been formally announced as the team's new defensive coordinator.

Florida State: Memphis defensive graduate assistant Cortez Carter has joined the Seminoles staff in a defensive quality control role.

Memphis: Jim Bridge will be the new offensive line coach at Memphis, Tigers beat writer Jonah Jordan tweets. Bridge joined the Duke staff in 2016 working with tight ends and special teams before moving to the offensive line recently.

UNLV: Danny Langsdorf has joined the staff as quarterbacks coach / passing game coordinator.

Georgia: Director of athletics Greg McGarity has promoted Josh Brooks to senior deputy director (the number two position in UGA Athletics). Brooks, widely regarded as one of the rising stars in the profession, returned to Georgia three years ago as senior executive associate AD after having served in a similar role at Louisiana Monroe and as director of athletics at Millsaps. Brooks, who provides oversight to UGA football, got his start as a student assistant working with various groups at LSU. He would go on to serve as director of football operations at ULM before joining the staff at Georgia the first time.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have let go wide receivers coach Carson Walch, Jonathan Jones tweets. Adam Schefter adds that the Eagles are also expected to part ways with offensive coordinator Mike Groh.

Dallas Cowboys: Texas associate head coach / run game coordinator Stan Drayton is scheduled to visit with the Cowboys today, Todd Archer tweets. Drayton previously coached the running backs at Ohio State before leaving for the Chicago Bears runnings backs job from 2015-16. Archer notes that Gary Brown, who has coached the running backs for the Cowboys since 2013, is still an option to return.

Memphis: Charles Clark has been announced as the new defensive backs coach.

LA Rams: Linebackers coach / assistant head coach Joe Barry is speaking with Sean McVay about the Rams vacant defensive coordinator job and if he doesn't get it he "likely has an opportunity" to become USC's defensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport tweets.

New Mexico Highlands (D-II): Sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Marty Fine has stepped down after three seasons.

New York Giants: Joe Judge plans to speak with Freddie Kitchens about a spot on his offensive staff Jordan Raanan is reporting. Sources tell FootballScoop multiple staff members from the Browns 2019 staff could join the Giants staff. Stay tuned.

Miami: Alonzo Highsmith will not be joining The U, according to the Miami Herald.

Missouri State (FCS): Missouri State and head coach Dave Steckel have reached a separation agreement.

Salaries: Matt Rhule's deal with the Carolina Panthers revealed that some NFL coaches make more than you probably think.

NC State: As we reported earlier this morning, NC State has now formally announced the addition of Charley Wiles as defensive line coach.

South Carolina: Will Muschamp is making some adjustments to his South Carolina staff, per report.

Miami Dolphins: Illinois defensive line coach Austin Clark is joining the staff and will coach the outside linebackers, Ian Rapoport tweets.

NC State: Former long-time Virginia Tech defensive line coach Charley Wiles has accepted a position on Dave Doeren's staff sources share with FootballScoop. For those who didn't see it, enjoy this final sendoff from his good friend Bud Foster.

Dodge City CC (JC - KS): Dodge City Community College is looking to fill a defensive assistant. Coach will also work in the dorm. Position is OLBs. Pay is $12k plus room and board is included. New York Giants: Joe Judge is retaining Thomas McGaughey as the Giants special teams coordinator, Alex Marvez tweets.

Texas A&M Kingsville (D-II): Keith Wagner, who previously served as the offensive line coach at Alabama A&M (FCS), will be joining the staff as run game coordinator / offensive line coach, per source.

FAU: Raymond Woodie will coach the outside linebackers and serve as recruiting coordinator, sources tell FootballScoop. Woodie previously worked with Willie Taggart at Florida State and Oregon.

Memphis: Former Ole Miss defensive coordinator Mike MacIntyre will be the new defensive coordinator at Memphis. Pete Thamel reported on this a few times earlier this week and Bruce Feldman just shared the same per his sources.

South Dakota Mines (D-II): The program has officially added Vance Winter as the new Hardrocker defensive coordinator and Ryan Gent as offensive coordinator. Winter previously served as the defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Midland University (NAIA - NE), while Gent served as the wide receivers coach at Abilene Christian (FCS - TX).

McPherson (NAIA - KS): McPherson College has a DL position open. Compensation is $12k, apartment housing, some meals. Interested applicants please apply via this link.

Instead, his teaching progression revolves around providing linemen with a toolbox that contains a technique to handle the five most common alignments presented, regardless of the front. The outside zone is a mainstay in the Pioneers system and averaged 5.1 yards per carry this season.
