Former Oklahoma head coach John Blake has sadly passed. Please join us in praying for his family. Coach Blake led the Sooners from 1996-1998 before going on to coach the defensive lines at Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, and most recently with the Buffalo Bills in 2016. Coach Blake was just 59.

Louisiana Tech:Louisiana Tech has replaced a Sept. 19 game against Prairie View A&M, canceled due to the SWAC shutting down the fall season, with Houston Baptist.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns have hired Kevin Rogers as a senior offensive assistant. Rogers coached quarterbacks with Kevin Stefanski in Minnesota from 2006-10, and last worked as William & Mary's offensive coordinator.

Big Ten: Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy said Lambeau Field could host a Big Ten championship game after 2023.

Rutgers: The Rutgers professors union is suing the university over its support of the athletics department.

Washington: Moving on from the Redskins nickname, Washington has announced their (temporary) nickname.

Pac-12: According to a report today, the PAC-12 is planning to go to a 10-game league schedule starting in mid-September.

Gulf South (D-II): The Gulf South will delay the start of games until "either the last week of September or the first week of October." Additionally, the conference is planning to play a conference only schedule this year.

Michigan State: The Spartans have paused workouts after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

Sun Belt: The Sun Belt will announce today the suspension of all sports until Sept. 3 -- football's opening day -- tweets SI's Pat Forde. This has no impact on football; but does impact other sports that had games scheduled to begin before that date.

Ohio Valley Conference (FCS): The Ohio Valley has delayed Olympic sports competition through Sept. 17. This decision does not apply to football "due to existing contractual matters."

North Coast Athletic Conference (D-III): The league has announced that they are suspending fall sports competitions through December 31st.

Monroe College (JC - NY): The Monroe College Football program is looking to hire a Junior Varsity head coach. The compensation for the opportunity is with a seasonal stipend. The candidates need to live in the Tri-States or greater New York Metropolitan area. There is no housing provided. College coaching experience is a plus. Monroe College is a member of the Northeast Football Conference and is located in New Rochelle, NY. NCAA: Why Friday could be a crucial one if the college football season is going to happen.

Monroe College (JC - NY): Monroe College is looking to hire a Graduate Assistant to be a part of their football coaching staff for the fall of 2020. This will be an opportunity to coach on the defensive side of the ball, working with either the linebackers or defensive backs. College playing experience is preferred. Any background in coaching, graphic design and operations is a plus. All interested candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, while graduating with a 3.0 GPA or better. New York: While colleges and universities can play football in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered that no fans will be allowed in the stands. The decision directly affects in-state program Syracuse, Buffalo and Army.
