Mike Leach on Sam Houston State's Offense: Last month, X&O Labs released a new special report to their 10,000 members on Sam Houston State's evolution of the Air Raid offensive system. This report featured an inside look at how the Bearkats are increasing offensive production by emphasizing wide receiver play rather than quarterback play. This change in thinking had a profound affect. Lead by offensive coordinator, Phil Longo, Sam Houston State finished first in total offense at the FCS level, stockpiling over 531 yards per game. X&O Labs was curious to know if this shift was becoming a trend, so they went directly to the source in an exclusive interview with the grandfather of the system itself, Washington State University head coach Mike Leach. Coach Leach had an interesting observation on this trend--you'll want to see it for yourself. See what Mike Leach said about Sam Houston State's offense here.
