South Florida: USF has announced the elimination of 30 positions and pay cuts or furloughs for all salaried employees. This includes 15 percent cuts for AD Michael Kelly and head coach Jeff Scott.

NFL: Check out the lengths the NFL is going to to make sure exposed teams don't spread the virus.

Mountain West: The Mountain West announced its schedule on Thursday, an 8-game slate beginning Oct. 24 with a title game on Dec. 19. Boise State will play seven league games (plus BYU), San Diego State will play seven (plus an opponent TBD) while Air Force will play six (plus Army and Navy). There will be no divisions; the two best records will meet for the championship. More here.

Oklahoma Panhadle State (NAIA): Oklahoma Panhandle State University has an opening for an entry level football coach. We are looking for an Offensive Line Coach. The pay is $16,000 and reduced housing. This position starts ASAP. Email resumes to: bob.majeski@opsu.edu.

West Hills (JC- CA): West Hills College is seeking a restricted earnings Defensive Line coach. This is a part-time stipend position and applicants must pass background/drug screening prior to employment. App State-ULL: The game between App State and Louisiana, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7 in Boone, has been postponed to December due to COVID issues at App, the schools have announced. The makeup date will be Dec. 4 or 5.

Scott Pioli: The former longtime NFL exec has created a fund aimed at creating more opportunities for those with HBCU roots.

Vanderbilt: The program will bring out a new helmet featuring the Nashville skyline for a few games this season.

College Football Playoff: The CFP has pushed back the date of its initial rankings from Nov. 17 to Nov. 24 with the Big Ten, Pac-12, MAC and Mountain West coming aboard. Selection Sunday remains Dec. 20.

Masters of Sports Administration:Upper Iowa’s MSA degree provides learners with the current theories, concepts, and learning models necessary to assume administrative, coaching and leadership roles in high school, higher education and sports business settings. The online degree is available with emphasis in Sports Management or Coaching & Leadership Education.

NFL Tonight: The Broncos travel to New York to take on the Jets tonight. Kickoff is at 8:20pm EST on NFL Network. Earlier this week we shared why this game could be absolutely critical for the future of Jets head coach Adam Gase.

College of DuPage (JC – IL): The College of DuPage is seeking applicants for an entry-level assistant football coach. All position strengths will be considered. Duties include on-field coaching, film breakdowns, practice planning, game planning, game day responsibilities, recruiting, and other duties as assigned. Playing experience at the college level is required. This is an ideal position for a new or recent graduate looking to get into the profession or to prepare for a high-level GA position. Previous coaches in this position have moved on to graduate assistant positions at all division levels or full time opportunities. The role offers a chance to coach a position group of high-level athletes, network with college coaches across the country, and to develop your recruiting skills in a live environment. There is a possibility of a small stipend but at this time these positions are considered VOLUNTEER. Schedule is flexible enough to allow another part-time job if needed. No housing or meals provided. For this reason, local residents or those with a local housing option (Chicago area), are encouraged to apply. Minority candidates are also encouraged to apply.
