Big Ten: In addition to James Franklin's questioning of Big Ten leadership, Ryan Day has now also come out publicly questioning conference leadership.

Covid: In late August, Georgia State QB Mikele Colasurdo shared publicly that over the Summer he had tested positive for Covid and following an initial cardiac exam it was determined he was at risk of having Myocarditis. At the time he said he would need to sit out the season but was looking forward to returning when appropriate. After further cardiac evaluation, it has been confirmed that he does not suffer from myocarditis or other heart ailment that would prevent him from playing. He has been cleared to return to practice. "I'm very thankful to be able to put this behind me and return to the game I love," Colasurdo said. "I really appreciate all the support from our coaches and our trainers and medical staff for all they are doing to protect our health. I'm excited to be back on the field."

College GameDay: Lee Corso will not join the rest of the crew for its broadcast from Wake Forest on Saturday, out of an abundance of caution. See where the rest of the crew may travel the rest of the season.

North Texas: Quarterbacks coach Tate Wallis has resigned. The Denton Record-Chronicle first noted the resignation.

DePaw (D-III - IN): DePauw University is seeking applications for full-time defensive coordinator. The defensive coordinator for football is responsible for assisting the head coach, in implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III football program at DePauw University. This includes recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, scouting, coaching, scheduling, budgeting and planning team travel in compliance with University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The defensive coordinator also provides leadership in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes. Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years related coaching experience required. Playing and/or coaching experience at the intercollegiate level in football required. Big Ten: One month after the Big Ten postponed the season, Penn State James Franklin went on ESPN radio and publicly called out the lack of leadership involved.

Montana State-Northern (NAIA – MT): Montana State University-Northern is seeking applicants for the position of Full-Time Assistant Football Coach for the Offensive Line. Preferred candidates will have prior experience playing/coaching on the offensive side of the ball, preferably on the offensive line. Candidates will be responsible for coaching their own position group, recruiting an area, film editing/breakdown (HUDL), travel operations, and all other duties assigned by the head football coach. A bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license is required. This is a full-time position with full benefits and pay will be discussed during the interview process. Southern Miss: Paul Gonnella announced today that he has resigned from his assistant coaching / recruiting role at Southern Miss. Sources tell FootballScoop Gonnella had been separated from the staff for a while before this announcement.

Southeastern Louisiana (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop safeties coach Tarence Calais is no longer part of the staff.

Big Ten: Ohio's attorney general may recommend Ohio State pursue legal action against the Big Ten for postponing the football season.

Oklahoma State: Johnny Barr, who has been on Mike Gundy's staff since 2009, has been let go by the University. Barr, who has spent nearly 50 years in the profession, served as Gundy's director of football relations. Mike Groce, the director of football recruiting, has also been let go. Tulsa World reached out to Barr who offered, "I want to say this: Mike Gundy is the best head coach I've ever worked for. Whether it's football, handling kids, talking to kids about things other than football - and the way he going about doing it - he has been the best. Good football man and he loves those kids."

Good News: There have been over 1,000 high school football games played, and no reports of COVID-19 being spread at them.
