SWAC: Sources tell FootballScoop Alcorn State plans to opt out of the upcoming Spring season.

Michigan: After not getting the linebackers job with Urban Meyer and the Jaguars, it is being reported Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary will remain part of Jim Harbaugh's staff.

Alabama: Alabama has now officially announced Todd Watson (special assistant to Nick Saban) and Jay Graham (special teams coordinator / tight ends).

Kansas: Sources tell FootballScoop Les Miles is planning to hire Mike DeBord as his new offensive coordinator.

New Mexico: FAU co-offensive coordinator / tight ends coach Drew Mehringer is expected to take the co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks job at New Mexico per Pete Thamel.

Houston Texans: The Texans are hiring Dino Vasso as secondary coach per multiple reports. Vasso has coached defensive backs for the Eagles for several years.

Pittsburgh: The Steelers promoted assistant offensive line coach Adrian Klemm to offensive line coach. There was some Power 5 offensive line coach interest in this position; but the Steelers chose to remain in-house.

Charlotte: Charlotte has announced Herb Hand as offensive line coach. He spent the past three years as co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach at Texas.

New Orleans Saints: Former Cowboys and Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard is joining the organization as secondary coach, Ian Rapoport tweets.

Florida A&M (FCS): Head coach Willie Simmons has signed a contract extension with the school after being a candidate for the running backs job at South Carolina, Matt Zenitz tweets

Minnesota State-Mankato (D-II): Upper Iowa (D-II) offensive line coach Chad Henning is leavin to to return to his alma mater at Minnesota State-Mankato as offensive line coach.

New York Jets: Maquand Manuel is joining the team as safeties coach and Tony Oden as senior defensive assistant / corners coach, Tom Pelissero tweets.

Houston Texans: Frank Ross is expected to join the staff special teams coordinator, Tom Pelissero tweets. Ross previously worked with the Patriots while new Texas GM Nick Caserio was in New England.

Colorado: Sources tell FootballScoop new defensive coordinator Chris Wilson will have Mark Smith coaching inside linebackers. Smith, a former Texas high school head coach (Hurst L.D. Bell), previously coached at SMU and at Arkansas. Smith was scheduled to serve as defensive coordinator at LIU for the 2020 season (which was postponed due to Covid).

Miami Dolphins: Ian Rapoport tweets that the Dolphins will have running backs coach Eric Studesville and quarterbacks coach George Godsey serve as co-offensive coordinators.

Virginia: Marques Hagans has offers from Big Ten and SEC programs sources tell FootballScoop. Virginia doesn't want to lose him.

Virginia Tech: JC Price has officially joined the staff as co-defensive line coach / defensive line coach recruiting coordinator. The school has also announced that running backs coach Adam Lechtenberg has added the title of offensive recruiting coordinator, and corners coach Ryan Smith has added passing game coordinator duties.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Ravens coaching analyst Zachary Orr will be taking a job on Urban Meyer's staff, likely as linebackers coach Jeff Zrebiec tweets.

Coaches of the Year: Previous winners have selected Steve Sarkisian - 2020 FootballScoop Offensive Coordinator of the Year.

Chicago Bears: Former Pro Bowl defensive back Mike Adams has joined the Bears staff as assistant defensive backs coach.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Bob Sutton, who spent the past two seasons as a senior assistant for the Falcons and prior to that was the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs (2013-18), is joining the staff in a senior position on the defensive staff, Jason La Canfora tweets.

Colorado: Bryan Cook, who has spent the past two years as the director of quality control for defense, is being promoted to tight ends coach, Brian Howell tweets.

Jacksonville Jaguars:Urban Meyer is dipping into the Big Ten coordinator ranks for his tight ends coach, per report.

Scoop Him Up: Ryan Stanchek, most recently the offensive line coach at Southern Miss, led the Golden Eagles to a 47-rushing yard per game improvement from his arrival in 2019. Also, in 2020, Southern Miss averaged 4.31 yards per carry which was over a one-yard improvement from the year prior. In 2019, Stanchek mentored Drake Dorbeck to the school’s first Kent Hull Trophy, presented to the top collegiate lineman in Mississippi. In 2018, Stanchek called the offense at Alcorn State and guided the Braves to the top offense in HBCU and No. 13 13 nationally. Stanchek’s offense ranked eighth in the nation in rushing with 291.4 yards per game. Stanchek’s stint at Alcorn lasted five seasons and included leading FCS football in yards per carry for three seasons (6.42 in 2017), winning five consecutive division titles, three SWAC Championships and one HBCU national title. Under Stanchek, 17 offensive linemen have been named all-conference and eight have been All-Americans in the past seven seasons. Stanchek’s 10-year collegiate coaching career also includes stops at Florida State and Indiana. Stanchek is a Cincinnati, Ohio native where he attended La Salle High School. He was inducted into the La Salle High School Hall of Fame in 2015. His wife, Jessica, is a board member on the AFCWA. Missouri: Sources tell FootballScoop Missouri is adding Brett Whiteside to the staff.

Chaffey (JC - CA): Chaffey College is looking to hire a new wide receivers coach. There is a modest stipend attached to the position. The ideal candidate will have a track record of recruiting efforts and the ability to manage all aspects of community college coaching. Responsibilities include recruiting your position and an assigned area, helping with the matriculation process for your position group, mentoring your players, coaching your position group’s fundamentals and scheme, preparing for and running position meetings, assisting with special teams, assisting with weekly game planning, film breakdown and data entry (HUDL), and other duties assigned by the head coach and coordinator. The ideal candidate would have a minimum 1 year coaching experience or collegiate playing experience. Position start date is as soon as possible. Review of candidates will begin immediately. Chaffey (JC - CA): Newly hired wide receivers coach Kyle Kianpour has decided to step down to pursue opportunities outside of football.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Former Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has agreed to terms with the Jaguars as passing game coordinator, per multiple reports.

Bentley (D-II – MA): Bentley University is seeking applicants for 2 Assistant Coach openings, there is a modest stipend, neither position has medical benefits or housing. Both positions will have their own recruiting area and additional administrative responsibilities. Current openings are working with Wide Receivers OR Corners. Nebraska: Sources tell FootballScoop Scott Frost has found his new director of player development.

Minot State (D-II - MN): Francisco Llanos has joined the program as special teams coordinator / wide receivers coach. Llanos spent the past two seasons as the defensive backs / special teams coordinator at Gaither HS (Tampa, FL).

Jason Witten: Retired from his playing days (once again), Witten is now turning to coaching.

Navarro (JC - TX): Navarro JC located in Corsicana TX has an immediate opening for a WR intern coach. Navarro led the nation in total offense in 2019 with their Air Raid offense. Applicant must posses skills with Hudl, Microsoft office and will be in charge of offensive video. This position will also have a recruiting area. Position includes housing and meals but NO STIPEND. Lincoln (D-II - MO): Per source, defensive coordinator Craig Cox has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Cox has previously served as the defensive coordinator at Campbell (FCS - NC), Johnson C. Smith (D-II - NC), and Virginia Union (D-II).

Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): Southwest Minnesota State is seeking a full-time coach (offense or defense). The Assistant Coach will be involved in all aspects of the SMSU Football Program including recruiting, practice planning, game planning, organization, scheduling and travel management. The position will have assistant coaching and athletic administrative responsibilities. Other job duties to be assigned may include diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives, student-athlete academic success, camp coordination, fund raising, or other assignments that reflect the expertise of the candidate. Position maybe assigned teaching duties as part of the position’s responsibilities based on area of study and previous experience. This position is a 12-month contract. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a full benefits package. Candidates should apply via this link. Jacksonville Jaguars: A Michigan assistant is reportedly interviewing for a spot on Urban Meyer’s staff.

South Carolina: Drew Hixson has joined the program as assistant director of player personnel. Hixson spent the past two seasons at Kansas as director of scouting.
