Coach Parker Dykes died July 1st at age 76. Please keep the former Jones County Junior College head coach in your prayers. Dykes won the 1998 JC National Championship at Jones. In addition to his time coaching at Jones and high school ball in the state of Mississippi, Coach also spent time on staff at Arkansas State, Richmond and at Carson-Newman.

Los Angeles Rams: Nevada director of football operations Vince Hug has joined the Rams as manager of football operations source tells FootballScoop.

Alabama: Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian underwent a procedure to correct a "congenital cardiovascular anomaly" last week and is back in Tuscaloosa expected to make a full recovery, the school has announced.

Fordham (FCS - NY): Fordham has officially canceled its first three games of the season -- vs. Stony Brook on Aug. 29, vs. Bryant on Sept. 5 and at Hawai'i on Sept. 12. The Rams are now planning to open their season Sept. 26 at Monmouth.

Centennial Conference (D-III): The Centennial Conference has announced that football will not be played this fall. More here.

NESCAC (D-III): The New England Small College Athletic Conference "looks like it is going to spring football," Dennis Dodd tweets. Back on June 22nd, NESCAC member Bowdoin (D-III - ME) announced the decision to cancel all fall and winter sports. The rest of the league consists of Bates, Middlebury, Williams, Hamilton, Trinity (CT), Wesleyan (CT), Connecticut College (CT), Amherst, and Tufts.

William Jewell (D-II): William Jewell football would like to invite applicants for their open running back position. This is an entry level position which comes with a $10,000 annual stipend, possible dormitory housing, and no meal plan. The RB coach will be responsible for his own position room, assigned special teams duties, off-campus recruiting and other duties assigned by the head coach and offensive coordinator. Liberty League (D-III): The Liberty League released an announcement today sharing that the league's presidents have agreed on a plan for a return to college athletics this fall. The release shares that fall competition in all sports will begin no earlier than September 26th, and all teams must complete "the first two phases of the guidelines outlined in the NCAA's Core Principles of Resocialization of Collegiate Sport prior to engaging in competition. The league consists of the following schools: Bard College, Clarkson University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Ithaca College, RPI, Rochester Institute of Technology, Skidmore College, St. Lawrence University, Union College, University of Rochester, Vassar College.

Carolina Panthers: The organization has opted to not renew the contracts of veteran pro scouts Don Warren and Clyde Powers, Joe Person tweets.

NFL: The NFLPA president has sounded the alarm on the league's handling of players' virus concerns.

MIT (D-III): MIT has canceled all varsity athletics for the fall 2020 semester.

NC State: Ruffin McNeill has joined the staff as special assistant to the head coach.

Detroit Lions: The Lions have hired Ademi Smith as a scouting assistant, and Calo Brighenti and Michael Pelfrey as analytics assistants.

Navarro (JC - TX): Matt Lott has accepted the offensive line job. Lott previously served as the offensive coordinator at Coahoma CC (JC - MS).

Hamline (D-III - MN): Matthew Wood will be the new linebackers coach on the Hamline staff.

Tennessee: Florida A&M (FCS) co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Alex Jackson has accepted an offensive analyst position on the Vols staff. Jackson previously served on SEC staffs in similar roles at Arkansas and Georgia.
