Long-time Alcorn State head coach Marino Casem passed away late last week at the age of 85. Following 22 years as head coach at Alcorn State, Casem became director of athletics at Southern University in 1986 where he served until 1999. He was inducted into the college football hall of fame in 2003. Please join us in keeping Coach Casem, his family and friends in your prayers.

Kansas State: Head coach Chris Klieman and men's basketball coach Bruce Weber have both agreed to a 13% salary reduction, and and all KSU athletics employees making more than $150k per year will see a 10% reduction in their salary. Also, those making between $100k and $150k will see a 5% salary reduction.

Taylor (NAIA – IN): Defensive coordinator Mike Conway is taking the position of Director of Athletics at Olivet Nazarene University on June 1. Taylor’s position of Defensive Coordinator is currently open. Inquiries, letter of interest, and resume materials may be sent to head football coach Ron Korfmacher at Taylor University is a private, interdenominational Christian university. Taylor is a Mideast league member of the Mid States Football Association. Qualified candidates demonstrate a personal and growing faith in Jesus Christ, the ability and desire to effectively mentor men in, through and beyond football, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff members in developing a comprehensive, competitive football team and program.

Name, Image, Likeness: The NCAA announced HUGE news this morning in regards to allowing athletes to profit off their name, image, and likeness...including NO limit on earnings (provided certain guidelines are met).

Return to practice timeline: 4 weeks? 8 weeks? 10 weeks? According to a report, the NCAA Oversight Committee has made a suggestion on the practice period length for college football teams before returning to play in the fall. 

Colorado: Former Colorado quality control coach Reed Heim has been hired as the defensive coordinator at Denton Guyer (TX) High School, as first reported by Reece Waddell of the Denton Record-Chronicle.
