Baylor: Joey McGuire, associate head coach and defensive ends coach on Matt Rhule's staff, has elected to remain at BU despite overtures from Oklahoma and Texas, tweets David Smoak of ESPN Central Texas. Also, Adam Rittenburg tweets that Vince Guinta, who has been at Oregon State overseeing player personnel the past five seasons, will be joining the staff. He and Aranda previously worked together at Wisconsin.

Army: Source tells FootballScoop that linebackers coach Kevin Corless, who has spent the past eight seasons (6 at Army and 2 at Georgia Southern) with Jeff Monken, is not being retained.

Charlotte: Quarterbacks coach Mark Carney is being promoted to offensive coordinator, Pete Thamel tweets. Carney previously served as the offensive coordinator at Virginia State (D-II).

Purdue: Sources tell FootballScoop that Air Force defensive line coach Terrance Jamison will be the new defensive line coach for Jeff Brohm's staff. Prior to joining Air Force, Jamison spent two seasons as the defensive line coach at Texas Tech.

Green Bay Packers: Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine will return, Rob Demovsky tweets.

Western Michigan: Saginaw Valley (D-II - MI) special teams coordinator / safeties coach KC Zenner has left for a graduate assistant job at Western Michigan, source tells FootballScoop.

Mississippi State: Despite Syracuse AD John Wildhack's willingness to match Mississippi State's two-year deal worth $900k annually, Zach Arnett still opted to leave for Starkville, reports.

Carolina Panthers: William & Mary (FCS - VA) running backs coach / recruiting coordinator EJ Barthel, who previously worked with Matt Rhule for a season at Temple, is joining the organization, likely in an off-field role, Joe Person tweets.

Rhode Island (FCS): Holy Cross (FCS - MA) offensive coordinator Patrick Murphy has accepted the offensive coordinator job.

Mount Union (D-III - OH): Geoff Dartt, who has spent a total of seven seasons on staff including five as offensive coordinator, has been promoted to head coach. Dartt coached the Purple Raider offensive line in 2012 before being promoted to offensive coordinator from 2013-16. He spent one season as the offensive line coach at Western Kentucky before returning to Mount Union in 2018.

Auburn: Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has agreed to a new three-year deal taking him through the 2022 season.

Missouri: Eli Drinkwitz will call his own plays at Missouri, so his staff structure is a bit different than most places. See all of his hires and their salary information via the Missouri Staff Tracker (2019-20).

Oregon: Joe Moorhead has signed a 2-year contract paying him $900,000 in 2020 (a $50,000 increase from what Marcus Arroyo was set to earn) and $1 million in 2021, per the Eugene Register-Guard.

Navy: After recently courting interest from Mississippi State for their defensive coordinator spot, defensive coordinator Brian Newberry has signed a new contract, according to the Capital Gazette. Head coach Ken Niumatalolo shares in the report that Syracuse, UCLA, and Washington State also expressed interest in hiring Newberry away.

Dixie State (D-II - UT): Per source, Independence CC (JC - KS) quarterbacks coach Johnny Caughman has taken a defensive quality control job at Dixie State.

Cleveland Browns: Vikings assistant general manager Georga Paton is flying to Cleveland for his second interview for the vacant Browns GM job, Courtney Cronin tweets.

Simon Fraser (D-II - Canada):Simon Fraser University is looking for a home game for 2020 on September 12th. Willing to do a home and away but 2020 must be a home game. Willing to provide hotel stay and possible cash guarantee. Will consider DII, NAIA and DIII schools. Please contact head coach at

Langston (NAIA - OK): Langston University is looking for a HBCU NCAA DII or NCAA FCS team for a neutral site game in Wichita, KS for the Heartland Football Classic on September 12th 2020. Teams that have interest please e-mail head coach Quinton Morgan at

Mississippi State: Zach Arnett, who had previously accepted the defensive coordinator job at Syracuse after serving as San Diego State's defensive coordinator last fall, is expected to join Mike Leach's staff as defensive coordinator, per multiple reports.

Alabama: Freddie Roach has joined the Crimson Tide staff. Back on the 20th, we shared that defensive line coach Brian Baker was expected to move into an off-the-field role and Roach, who had been announced as defensive line coach / assistant head coach on Lane Kififn's staff at Ole Miss, was Nick Saban's target.

Sacramento State (FCS): Sacramento State, fresh off the most successful season in school history, is seeking someone to fill a newly created Recruiting and Operations Assistant role. This position will work directly with the Director of Football Operations and is tailored towards candidates who have experience working in a Division 1 football recruiting and/or operations role. FIU: Miami (FL) senior analyst Joel Rodriguez is expected to be the new offensive line coach at FIU, Bruce Feldman tweets. Rodriguez previously served as offensive line coach at Fordham (FCS - NY) under Joe Moorhead.

Appalachian State: Trey Money, who spent last season in a graduate assistant role at Louisville, is returning to App State in a quality control capacity, source tells FootballScoop. Money previously served as a student assistant and then graduate assistant for the program before leaving for Louisville.

Maryville (D-III - TN): Maryville College, a private liberal arts college in Maryville, TN. They are seeking applicants for a full-time defensive backs coach. The coach will be responsible for coaching the entire defensive secondary on the field. They will report to the defensive coordinator. Duties will include recruiting, film breakdowns, practice planning and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Qualified applicants must have experience coaching defensive secondary at the collegiate level. Montana Tech (NAIA): Kyle Samson, who joined the staff as offensive coordinator in January of 2019, has been promoted to head coach. Prior to joining the staff, Samson led the Flathead HS (MT) program for five seasons.

College Football Playoff: Wyoming AD Tom Burman, Colorado AD Rick George and former Penn State All-American John Urschel have joined the CFP selection committee, and Iowa AD Gary Barta has been appointed chairman. The three new members will replace Frank Beamer, Chris Howard and Rob Mullens.

Auburn: With Gus Malzahn announcing Chad Morris will call plays this season, we recount all the times Gus has played tug-of-war with himself over the play sheet.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The organization has named Jay Gruden their new offensive coordinator.

Washington State: In addition to Mark Banker (as reported yesterday), Hawaii assistants Brian Smith (associate head coach / offensive coordinator), and Craig Stutzman (passing game coordinator / quarterbacks coach) will be joining Nick Rolovich in Pullman, Adam Rittenberg tweets. Numerous other outlets have shared the same. The Spokesman adds that defensive line coach Ricky Logo will join Rolo as well.

Iowa State: As we first reported yesterday, former Northwestern offensive coordinator Mick McCall has now been announced as running backs coach for the Cyclones.

Philadelphia Eagles: Former Browns secondary coach Dewayne Walker is expected to interview with the Eagles, Jason La Canfora tweets.

Baylor: Source tells FootballScoop that Dave Aranda plans to bring LSU analyst Dennis Johnson with him to Waco. Johnson coached the outside linebackers Ed Orgeron's first two seasons at LSU before moving to defensive line. An injury to Johnson's knees prompted a move to analyst heading into the 2019 season.

Florida State: Auburn defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson is leaving for the same position at Florida State, Tashan Reed tweets. Woodson previously coached with Mike Norvell at Memphis in 2016-17.

Wagner (FCS - NY): Chris Nugai has been announced as offensive coordinator / offensive line coach. Nugai most recently served as the offensive line coach at New Haven (D-II - CT).

Hawaii: Late last night, Hawaii announced the hire of former Pitt, Arizona State, Rice and Tulsa head coach Todd Graham as their new head coach. Read more here.

Judson University (NAIA - IL): Judson University, a private faith-based Christian college in Elgin, Illinois, is seeking applications for 2 full-time assistant coaches. Coaches with a Christian faith are a must. These coaches will serve as the primary assistants to the Offensive and Defensive Coordinators and will coach a position that best fits the staff. The assistant coach will be responsible for recruiting, film breakdowns, practice planning and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Iowa State: Sources shared with FootballScoop yesterday that Matt Campbell is planning to add a longtime Big Ten coordinator to his staff.

Rhode Island (FCS): Per source, Nebraska defensive quality control coach Jack Cooper is expected to be the team's new defensive coordinator.
