NCAA: Why Friday could be a crucial one if the college football season is going to happen.

Liberty League (D-III): The Liberty League has canceled all conference competition through the end of the calendar year.

Seattle Seahawks: Longtime assistant offensive line coach Pat Ruel has decided to retire. Ruel had been with Pete Carroll since 2010.

Southland Conference (FCS): The Southland plans to play its 2020 season as scheduled, commissioner Tom Burnett said today.

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings are close to finishing a multi-year extension with Mike Zimmer tweets Tom Pelissero.

Big South (FCS): The Big South announced today it is pushing the beginning of all fall sports competition to Sept. 3, the first day of football season -- meaning is planning on playing football at this time.

Toledo: Head coach Jason Candle announced today he has tested positive for covid-19. He says he is isolating and has not experienced any symptoms. Toledo says Candle was exposed by "an individual outside the athletic department who tested positive for the virus." He is the first FBS head coach known to have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

Harding (D-II - AR): Harding University has two graduate assistant openings. Experience on the offensive side of the ball is preferred, but the best available candidate regardless of position experience will be hired. Harding is seeking candidates with tremendous passion, relentless energy, a strong desire to be involved with all levels of recruiting, and a christian faith. Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) assisting with a position group and the strength and conditioning program, film breakdown, academic monitoring, and recruiting research and correspondence. Tuition credit is provided. Position does not include housing, meals, or a stipend. Tennessee Tech (FCS): Head coach Dewayne Alexander has received a contract extension through the end of 2024. Alexander has led the Golden Eagles for the past two and a half seasons, and went 1-10 in 2018 before improving to 6-6 this past season (the program's most wins since 2011).

Northwest Conference (D-III): The league has announced that they are going to postpone the fall football season until spring. The move directly impacts 8 Division III football programs in Linfield, George Fox, Lewis & Clark, Pacific (OR), Pacific Lutheran, Puget Sound, Whitworth, and Willamette.

Arkansas Baptist (JC): Arkansas Baptist College has an opening for an Offensive Line Coach. This is an entry-level position. If you are interested, please send resumes to

Virginia Tech: Former players Corey Fuller and Jeron Gouveia-Winslow have now formally joined the staff in assistant director of player personnel positions.

Hocking (JC - OH): Hocking College is seeking applicants for either a Running Backs or Defensive Backs position. Responsibilities include coaching a position, managing a recruiting territory, monitoring the dorm, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Experience playing/coaching at the college level is preferred. This position will offer a $4,000 stipend over 10 months and room and board. Tampa Bay Bucs: Former NFL quarterback Thad Lewis has joined the club as a coaching fellow, tweets Greg Auman of The Athletic. He has worked as an analyst at UCLA for the past two years.

Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX): SFA has hired Adam Kleffner as the Lumberjacks' assistant offensive line coach, a source tells FootballScoop. He previously served in the same post with the Dallas Cowboys.

New Mexico: The Governor of New Mexico has asked the Lobo and Aggie programs to suspend their 2020 season.

Graceland (NAIA - IA): Graceland University has two part-time openings on the football coaching staff: an offensive skilled coaching position and a defensive backs coaching position. Both positions will have their own recruiting area and will be responsible for coaching and managing their own squad, including position meetings. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to film breakdown and data entry, assisting with special teams, recruiting, running positional meetings, assisting with game preparation, and other duties assigned by the head coach.
