FAU: Multiple sources have confirmed to us that Carl Pelini has indeed accepted the job. 

Weber State: We hear John L. Smith, special teams coordinator at Arkansas, is being considered. 

FAU: CBS Sports is reporting that Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini has been offered the FAU job and is expected to accept it.

Texas A&M: A&M has confirmed that Mike Sherman will not be retained. Their release states that an interim head coach is expected to be named tomorrow. 

UMASS: Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown has interviewed. 

Boise State: New AD Mark Coyle: "My number 1 goal is to keep Chris Petersen at Boise State University."

Texas A&M: Sources close to the situation have told us that A&M intends to buy Mike Sherman out of his agreement and their top target is Kevin Sumlin. 

Boise State: Boise State has announced Mark Coyle as their new athletic director. Coyle currently serves as the Associate AD for fundraising and development at Kentucky. Coyle's contract is 5 years, $325,000 per. 

Kevin Sumlin: We have learned that another major university is about to launch a huge offer for Kevin Sumlin. 

Faulkner University (NAIA - AL): We hear former East Central CC head coach Steve Cheatham, has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Faulkner.

Northwestern Oklahoma State (NAIA): Alan Hall has been named the new head coach. Hall spent last season as the AD and head coach at Baptist Bible School in Savannah GA.

New Mexico State: The University has put it out there that they are working on an extension for DeWayne Walker. 

Arizona State: ASU and Sumlin's agent have both denied that there has even been contact at this point. Houston plays Saturday in the Conference USA championship game. 

LA Tech: The University has put it out there that they are working on an extension, along with a raise for Sonny Dykes. Nothing has been finalized yet. 

Tulane: Sources tell us that Burton Burns is not involved. 

Colorado State: AD, Paul Kowalczky has been let go. Former CSU quarterback Jack Graham has been named athletic director. Graham's contract is 5 years at $260,000 per. 

Arizona State: It is being reported (not confirmed by us) that ASU has offered the job to Kevin Sumlin. 

Quincy University (DII - IL): Quincy has announced four finalists for their head coaching vacancy. Wingate defensive coordinator Bobby James, Butler tight ends coach Nick Anderson, Bloomsburg offensive coordinator Tom Pajic, and Slippery Rock wide receivers coach Phil Longo are the finalists.

Ohio State: There are reports out there that Mike Stoops has been offered a position on Urban Meyer's staff. We have not confirmed; but we are aware of other universities that have significant interest in Mike. 

Central Oklahoma (D-II): We hear head coach Tracy Holland has been released. 

Colorado State: CSU has announced a presser this afternoon. Our sources tell us this is related to a change of Athletic Director and that as of now, there is no change to Steve Fairchild's status. 

Tennessee: To avoid any confusion, Charlie Baggett was not fired. He stepped down. 

UTEP: Mike Price will remain as head coach in 2012.

Tennessee: Sources tell us that both Tee Martin and Larry Porter have offers to join the Tennessee staff. 

Tennessee: Assistant head coach / wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett will not return. Our sources say to look for Charlie to coach in the league next year. More coming from Tennessee...

UC Davis (FCS): It is being reported that head coach Bob Biggs will step down following the 2012 season.

Earlham (DII - IN): As we reported early last week, head coach Gerry Keesling has stepped down. Assistant head coach Matt Macy and defensive coordinator Nick Johnson will handle the administrative duties while the search for a new head coach takes place.

Ferris State (DII - MI): Offensive coordinator Chris Boden has been named interim head coach.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL): Offensive coordinator Jamie Barresi has been relieved of his duties.

UAB: We are told Paul Petrino has expressed interest in the job.

Cincinnati: We hear the AD is working on an extension for Butch Jones.
