Please join us in keeping the family of longtime NFL special teams coach (and former Western Illinois head coach) Pete Rodriguez in your prayers. Coach Rodriguez, 75, died Sunday following complications from surgery.
SMU: Chad Morris has added Tulsa safeties coach (recruiting coordinator) Jess Loepp to his staff.
Florida: Pat Dooley is reporting that Jim McElwain will meet members of the current staff tomorrow and has made no decisions on who to keep. The Orlando Sentinel reported tonight that, per their source, Mac doesn't plan to bring any CSU staff members with him to Florida. We are not so sure that is the case. In fact, upon checking with sources, we suspect Mac will bring a small number of his full-time staff. As more becomes clear we will keep you updated.
Oregon State: Oregon State will not replace Mike Riley with a current Beavers assistant according to John Canzano of the Oregonian.
Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar and head coach Ray Woodard have agreed to a new three-year contract. Woodard is entering his sixth season at Lamar and holds a 25-32 record, including an 8-4 mark this past season.
Furman (FCS - SC): Per source, defensive coordinator John Windham and nickels / special teams coordinator Antonio Goss will not return.
Nebraska: A report from CBS Sports today noted that Ed Orgeron could be joining Mike Riley's staff. Per source, there has been no contact between Mike Riley and Ed at this time.
Nicholls State (FCS - LA): Per source, Central Arkansas corners coach Tommy Rybacki will join Tim Rebowe's staff as defensive coordinator.
Samford (FCS - AL): Sources tell us that Samford has begun the process of reaching out to candidates. We hear former head coach Pat Sullivan will be involved in the hiring decision and we have not heard it ruled out that defensive coordinator Billy D'Ottavio will be a candidate as many expect. We have heard of a small number of calls, including to Ole Miss co-offensive coordinator Matt Luke. Many also expect Bill Clark to consider the opportunity. We'll keep you posted.
Buffalo: The school has announced the hiring of Eastern Michigan outside linebackers coach Chris Simpson as its linebackers coach.

Florida: According the Denver Post, Colorado State and Florida settled on a renegotiated buyout for Jim McElwain that includes "$5 million in cash and $2 million for a single game at Florida in the future."
Cisco College (CC - TX): McPherson (NAIA - KS) head coach Steve Fox has resigned and has accepted a position as the defensive coordinator / assistant head coach at Cisco College.
Kent State: Per sources, Kent State offensive coordinator / quarterbacks Brian Rock will not return.
Florida: Jim McElwain and Florida have reached an agreement and the buyout is being taken care of per Chris Low of ESPN. Sources confirm that Mac is headed to Florida. Press conference at Florida later this afternoon to introduce him is the word. His total compensation at Florida is said to average $3.5 million annually over six years, per GatorZone. Benedictine (D-III - IL): Per source, linebackers coach Phil Klecker has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Klecker takes over for Jim Schroeder who accepted the head coaching job at Rockford University (D-III - IL).
