New Research: Are You Running the Right Plays? Post AFCA convention usually marks the beginning of a coaching staff’s self-scout evaluation period. Much of this assessment comes in the form of a progression, which measures the efficiency of each run/pass concept on offense and every front/pressure/coverage on defense. X&O Labs contacted several offensive and defensive staffs at the high school and collegiate level and asked each how they conducted their self-scout protocols. X&O Labs researched everything from how long the procedure lasts, how each staff delegates responsibilities, how they assess a proficient play or and most importantly how this information is carried forward into their installation periods during the spring and summer. You can read about each staff’s methods and access the templates they use for their post-season self-scout procedures in X&O Labs exclusive research report.
