New Research: Split Field Coverage Variations to Defend RPO Concepts - Playing man coverage seems to be the prevailing adjustment against the new triple option, but its high risk/high reward tendency is pushing 32 percent of defensive coordinators to use another alternative in defending these schemes- split field coverage variations. Versions of hard cover two, soft cover two, cover four, cover six, and robber- which are all predicated on offensive formation- are used to now defend numerous pass contours in the RPO game such as bubbles, slants, sticks, spots and pop routes. Several defensive coordinators illustrate how they are able to do so in X&O Labs new study on Defending Option Concepts. Click here to read an excerpt from X&O Labs special report.

Arkansas Pine Bluff (FCS): Per source, Lincoln (D-II - MO) offensive coordinator Mark Frederick has accepted the wide receivers job.
