Washington State: Mike Leach has received a $200,000 raise to bring his annual salary to $2.95 million and WSU has exercised the annual rollover clause in his contract, keeping him under contract for five years through December 31, 2020 according to the Seattle Times. Also, Wazzu has raised the salaries and renewed the contracts of the entire coaching staff after a 9-4 finish in 2015. The salary pool for the 10 assistants is being bumped up to $2.91 million (up $375k from the salary pool in 2015). Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch is getting a $150k raise to $575k, and that will go up to $600k in 2017, and $625k in 2018. Defensive line coach Joe Slave'a will make $375k this year (a $50k bump), OL coach Clay McGuire will make $376,500 (a $40k bump), OLBs coach Roy Manning will get $271,500 (a raise of $35k), ILBs coach Ken Wilson will make $246,500 (a bump of $30k), head strength coach Jason Loscalzo will make $251,500 (a $25k bump), special teams coach Eric Mele ($201,500) and RBs coach Jim Mastro ($236,500) each received a $10k raise, and inside WRs coach Dave Nichol will make $251,500 in 2016 while outside WRs coach JaMarcus Shephard will make $226,500. UC Davis: Bob Foster, who was previously on the Aggies staff for 20 years, and has spent time as an assistant at Oregon, Cal, and Colorado has returned to the program as a consultant during spring practices.

New Research: Lead Draw/Spot RPO - Last December's Orange Bowl between Clemson and Oklahoma helped to reaffirm the productivity of the Lead Draw/Spot RPO package. While Tigers QB Deshaun Watson diced the Sooners with this concept, Robert E. Lee High School (VA) Coach Scott Girolmo had similar success using this very same scheme by posting a school record 475 points this season. Emory and Henry (D-III - VA): Dick Hopkins, a thirty year coaching veteran who got his start at the college level working at Duke under Steve Spurrier in the early 80's, has been named defensive coordinator at Emory and Henry.

Lindenwood (D-II - MO): Source tells FootballScoop, just days after accepting the offensive line position at Clarion (D-II - PA), Brice Carlson is leaving to become the new offensive line coach at Lindenwood.

Palomar College (JC - CA): Palomar College is seeking qualified applicant for an assistant football coach working with quarterbacks. Desired qualifications include Master’s Degree in Kines/Physical ED or Exercise Science. Experience and relationships in Southern California is preferred. Applicants must have experience with HUDL digital editing system and be highly motivated to recruit. Prospective applicant’s responsibilities would include weekly organization and preparation, video breakdown of practice and games, opponent scout and tendency reports, in addition to on field coaching and recruiting responsibilities. Columbia: Former Union College (D-III) head coach John Audino will be joining the staff as an offensive assistant, sources tell FootballScoop. We understand that he will likely work with the tight ends.

Norfolk State (FCS - LA): Norfolk State University has an immediate opening for a defensive quality control assistant. Playing or coaching experience at the collegiate level is required. Scoop him up:Chris Mattox spent last season as the co-defensive coordinator at Coffeyville CC (KS), where he helped the program win 8 games and finished the season ranked #14 nationally, including two weeks as the #1 ranked team in the country. The defense, and defensive backfield in particular, put together a strong season, finishing the season ranked in the top 20 nationally in interceptions and third nationally in defensive touchdowns scored. Coffeyville CC churned out four Division I signees during Mattox's season with the team. Prior to Coffeyville, Mattox coached the defensive backs and was the assistant recruiting coordinator at Coahoma CC (MS), and he also has coaching and operations experience at Hinds CC (MS), US Merchant Marine Academy (NY), and Long Island University (NY). Mattox has developed relationships with guys in the profession like Chuck Cantor, Gene Murphy, Lee Wilbanks, Dwike Wilson, Aaron Flores, and Freeman Horton and can be reached at mattox.chris@yahoo.com.

Oklahoma: Bob Stoops has now announced that Steve Spurrier Jr.'s title with the Sooners will be director of high school recruiting / quality control on the offensive side of the ball.

Kennesaw State (FCS - GA): The program has announced that Andrew Thacker has been named linebackers coach.

St. Norbert (D-III - WI): Sources tell FootballScoop that the following coaches have joined Dan McCarty's staff; Drew Vanderlin (DC), Joe Gerber (TEs), Ryan Bright (QBs), Nick Pesik (WRs), Mitch Chester (DL) and DJ Bland (corners).

Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): Per source, former Minnesota student assistant Joe Matheson has accepted a graduate assistant position working with the tight ends. Matheson spent the last two seasons working on the offensive side of the ball with the Gophers, and spent another two as a student manager with the defensive line.

Dan Hawkins: Dan Hawkins, the former head coach at Boise State, Colorado, and with the Montreal Alouettes (Canada), has been named offensive coordinator of the Vienna Vikings of the Austrian Football League.

Ellsworth CC (JC - IA): Ellsworth Community College has an immediate opening for a restricted earnings offensive coach. In addition to a monthly stipend, on campus housing and meals are included. The right candidate will get their own position group and recruiting territory. Playing or coaching experience at the collegiate level is required. Kentucky: Andy Buh, who joined the staff as outside linebackers coach prior to last season, has added the title of special teams coordinator.

Idaho: Troy Purcell, who led Bozeman HS (MT) to three state titles, is joining the Idaho staff as quarterbacks coach, per a report from ABC / Fox Montana.

Shaw (D-II - NC): Adrian Jones, who has spent the last two seasons coaching the running backs at North Carolina Central University, has been hired as the new head coach at Shaw.

Whittier (D-III - CA): Whittier College, located in Los Angeles, CA has an immediate opening for a part time assistant coaching position working with our DL. The position includes a stipend of $3,000. No housing, or benefits are included, so local applicants are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will coach his own position, contribute to the weekly gameplan, be involved in recruiting, and also have flexibility to make both early morning and afternoon practice times. Lindenwood (D-II - MO): Lindenwood University has an opening for a full-time offensive position. Offensive coordinator experience at the collegiate level is preferred, as is a Master’s degree. Auburn: Per source, Craig Sanders (who played at Auburn from 2010-2013) has been added to the staff as a defensive graduate assistant.

TCU: Andrew Mitchell has joined the staff as an offensive graduate assistant working with the offensive line and tight ends. Mitchell spent the last few seasons at North Carolina and was at Houston in 2013.

Missouri Western State (D-II): Missouri Western State University is seeking two graduate assistants for the 2016 season. One position will be a defensive graduate assistant, working with the most appropriate position. The second position will be a wide receivers graduate assistant. Experience coaching and/or playing the WR position is a must. Each position will include a monthly stipend and tuition. Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Per sources, and as other outlets have reported, Arizona State graduate assistant Ray Brown has joined the staff and will coach the corners.

Nebraska: Abilene Christian (FCS - TX) corners coach Nick Smith has joined the Huskers in a quality control capacity.

LSU: Former graduate assistant and quality control coach Aaron Vice has been hired as the new offensive coordinator at St. John's School (Houston, TX). Vice spent last season as the offensive coordinator at Denham Springs HS (LA).
