Nevada: Nevada has hired Larry Lewis as running backs coach / special teams coordinator. Lewis most recently served as the associate head coach / special teams coordinator at Colorado State.

Tampa Bay Bucs: We have learned that Butch Davis will be named defensive coordinator. 

New Mexico State: We hear that secondary coach Mike Rutenberg has been promoted to defensive pass game coordinator. 

Oakland Raiders: The Raiders have now officially announced Jason Tarver as defensive coordinator, Keith Burns as assistant special teams coach and Johnny Holland (former Texans linebackers coach) as linebackers coach. 

Southwest Baptist University (D-II - MO): SBU is looking for a game on Thursday August 29, 2013 or Saturday August 31, 2013. We are looking for either a home game (will pay guarantee) or an away game with an FCS opponent. Please contact Head Coach Keith Allen at kallen@sbuniv.edu.

Oakland Raiders: Stanford offensive quality control (worked with the quarterbacks) Nick Holz has accepted the offensive assistant job with the Raiders. 

Dayton (FCS): Dayton is seeking applicants for an Intern - Receivers coach. Primary responsibilities include: assisting with recruiting student-athletes; training players in team and individual environments; and assisting with sports camps. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of coaching student-athletes and a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics. Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree (minimum), and possess good organizational, interpersonal and basic computer skills. Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience at the receiver position is required. Experience in sports camps, video editing and strength training is preferred. This is a full time, 9-month position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The UD Athletics Internship program is designed to expose the highly-motivated individual to all aspects of a Division I athletic program. Strong performers have the opportunity to be considered for permanent positions within the division if and when they become available. This internship has a a one-year optional renewal. Ellsworth CC (Iowa): Head coach Mike Virden has resigned. 

Penn State: Several sources over the past few weeks have been telling us they are hearing that George Godsey will not wind up joining the staff at Penn State as quarterbacks coach. We expect O'Brien to have someone in place shortly though. 

Columbia: As we told you last week, Matt Thurin has now officially been named special teams coordinator (formerly offensive grad assistant at Colorado) and Mike Cooke, who coached the linebackers at Central Connecticut State this past season, has now been named linebackers coach.

Wagner College (FCS - NY): Former Fordham head coach Tom Masella is now special teams coordinator / secondary / associate head coach at Wagner. 

Oklahoma Baptist (NAIA): Jason Melot has been added to the staff to coach the linebackers and coordinate recruiting. Melot was an assistant at Southmoore HS under head coach Chris Jensen.

Arizona State: We have confirmed that former Memphis head coach Larry Porter has been hired as running backs coach at Arizona State. 

Rutgers: As we told you yesterday, Bethune-Cookman offensive coordinator Rob Spence is joining the staff at Rutgers. We saw a note this morning in which he says he'll be the quarterbacks coach. 

Georgia Military College: Georgia Military has a restricted earnings offensive position (possibly WRs or RBs) available, includes housing and multi-state recruiting area. Please email offensive coordinator Ross Robinson at rrobinson@gmc.cc.ga.us

Emory and Henry (D-III - VA): Sources tell us that defensive assistant Cody Edwards is leaving the program to accept a position at Pinecrest High School (NC). 

Miami Dolphins: Running backs coach Jeff Nixon has been retained. 

Oklahoma State: We hear that Tulsa defensive backs coach Van Malone interviewed yesterday with Gundy for the open position on the OSU staff. We hear Gundy has a few more interviews planned as well.
