San Francisco 49ers: Niners Nation, SB Nation's 49ers site, reported today San Francisco discussed its offensive coordinator job with Alabama's Lane Kiffin but didn't go into specifics beyond that.

Southern Miss: We hear Todd Monken plans to fill his open director of football operations position from within the staff.

Cleveland Browns: Source tells FootballScoop that Hue Jackson plans to bring Al Saunders in as senior offensive assistant. Saunders spent the 2015 season in the same capacity with the Dolphins and was with the Raiders as OC or senior offensive assistant from 2011-2014.

Western Illinois: Per source, Southern Illinois defensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator David Elson will be the defensive coordinator at Western Illinois. As we reported yesterday, Garry Fisher has joined the staff as linebackers coach.

The Citadel: Per source, offensive coordinator Brent Thompson will be promoted to head coach.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jags are interviewing Dallas Cowboys defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson for their defensive coordinator job today, per Albert Breer.

Green Bay Packers: The Packers have let go running backs coach Sam Gash according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Tampa Bay Bucs: The Bucs have formally revealed the hirings of defensive line coach Jay Hayes, linebackers coach Mark Duffner, defensive backs coach Jon Hoke and special teams coordinator Nate Kaczor.

James Madison: Mike Houston's deal is five years at $300,000 per JMU's AD (h/t Jeff Hartsell).

Tampa Bay Bucs: Greg Auman reports that Paul Spicer is joining the staff as an assistant defensive line coach. Spicer played defensive end for the Jaguars while Mike Smith (the new defensive coordinator in Tampa) was the defensive coordinator.

UTSA: Southern Miss safeties coach Pete Golding will be Frank Wilson's defensive coordinator reports Bruce Feldman.

Philadelphia Eagles: Former Lions head coach and Bills defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will be the Eagles' defensive coordinator according to multiple outlets.

Navy: Per source, Charlotte outside linebackers coach Napoleon Sykes is joining the staff at Navy coaching the defensive line.

Northwestern (NAIA - IA): Head coach Matt McCarty will continue to serve as defensive coordinator (a role he's held since 2005), and Billy Kirch has been promoted to serve in the role of assistant defensive coordinator after serving as an assistant coach last season. Also, Josh Davis, who coached the wide receivers at South Dakota State the past seven years, has been hired as offensive coordinator.

NFL: Roger Goodell has named two new Executive Vice Presidents. Strategic communicator Joe Lockhart will be the league's new EVP of Communications and Cynthia Hogan (who joined the NFL in 2014 as Senior VP of Government Affairs) has been promoted to EVP of Public Policy and Government Affairs.

Michigan: Pass game coordinator / quarterbacks and wide receivers coach Jedd Fisch has agreed to a two-year contract extension, per SI.

Scoop him up: Eron Hodges is currently an assistant in recruiting operations at Ohio State who also has experience as an assistant coach at the FBS, FCS, and D-II ranks, as well as unique experience as a strength and conditioning coach at premier programs like Ohio State and Notre Dame. Hodges has worked alongside Buckeye director of player personnel Mark Pantoni (earning Creativity Team Employee of the Month 6-times), as well as accomplished coaches like Tony Alford (RBs coach at Ohio State), Alex Bailey (WRs coach at Ball State), and Kasey Teegardin (OLBs coach at Indiana). Hodges has a passion for coaching and recruiting at a high level and has aspirations to get back to the FCS or FBS level in a coaching capacity.

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins are hiring Jim Washburn as a senior defensive assistant working with the defensive line, per Alex Marvez.

San Francisco 49ers: The Niners are interviewing Houston Texans linebackers coach Mike Vrabel for the defensive coordinator job, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26.

UTSA: Oklahoma State defensive grad assistant Eric Henderson will join Frank Wilson's staff at UTSA, per source. We hear most of Wilson's staff is expected to be in place very soon. Will update...

Tennessee Tech: Per source, Western Kentucky offensive graduate assistant Ryan Wallace has accepted the tackles / tight ends job.

Miami Dolphins: Former Detroit Lions offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn is headed to Miami, per Dave Birkett.

Green Bay Packers: Head coach Mike McCarthy noted yesterday that he will continue to call the offensive plays moving forward. Tom Clements had been calling the plays, but in December McCarthy took back the play calling duties.
