Boise State: Chris Petersen has agreed to a new five year agreement that is reportedly right at or slightly above $2 million per. 

Chicago Bears: Quarterbacks coach Shane Day has been released. 

Texas A&M: Multiple sources telling us tonight that former Kansas co-offensive coordinator / receivers coach David Beaty (also formerly OC at Rice) will be part of Kevin Sumlin's staff. 

Colorado State: We have learned that Tim Skipper has been hired as linebackers coach at Colorado State. Skipper coached the linebackers and served as interim defensive coordinator at Freseno State this season. 

Illinois: Tim Beckman introduced Luke Butkus (OL), Chris Beatty (Co-OC and QBs) and Jon Tenuta (DC) today. 

Akron: On Saturday we told you that Chuck Amato had accepted the defensive coordinator role at was officially announced today. 

Kentucky: If you were on The Scoop last Friday you learned that Kentucky has hired Mike Cassity to coach the secondary. It was officially announced today. 

Florida: As we told you the day after Christmas, Jeff Dillman has been named the head strength coach at Florida. 

Tulane: Sources in New Orleans telling us that Jon Sumrall and Lionel Washington will serve as co-defensive coordinators. 

Central Oklahoma: As we told you previously, Navarro JC head coach Nick Bobeck will be named head coach tomorrow. 

Tennessee: Sources close to the situation tell us Dooley's first call was to Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele. Clemson plays tomorrow. We suspect Dooley will have his new coordinator by the end of the week. 

Kansas: Buddy Wyatt will be retained and will coach the defensive line.

Saint Augustine College (DII - NC): Saint Augustine's College is looking for two games. Division II Opponents preferred. Sept. 1st looking for a home contest but wanting it to be a home and home contract. Sept. 15th can be home or away but also want a home and home for 2012 and 2013. Midland University (NAIA - NE): Midland is seeking a full-time offensive line coach. Must have Masters, minimum 3 years experience coaching offensive line, and on-road recruiting experience. TCU: We have learned that Texas Tech defensive coordinator Chad Glasgow will return to the TCU defensive staff. We would expect current safeties coach Trey Haverty to move over to receivers. 

Philadelphia Eagles: Head coach Andy Reid will return in 2012.

Texas A&M: Sources close to the program confirming to us that Kevin Sumlin is very interested in Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi as his defensive coordinator. 

Newberry College (DII - SC): Newberry College is looking for 2 games on September 1, 2012 and September 8, 2012. Interested parties contact Mike Hold at or 803-944-0522.

Weber State: We hear Jody Sears will be named defensive coordinator (and coach the DBs) at Weber State. Sears is the former co-defensive coordinator at WSU. 

Alma College (DIII – MI):We hear that Alma is down to their final three candidates for the head coaching position. They include; Michigan Center head coach / athletic director Greg Psconda, Romeo HS (MI) head coach and Alma alum Jason Couch, and Northwood (DII – MI) offensive coordinator Tyson Silveus.

Kansas: Rob Ianello has now officially been named receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.

Southern Utah (FCS): Graduate assistant Fesi Sitake has been promoted to wide receivers coach. Offensive coordinator Steve Clark will coach the quarterbacks.

San DiegoChargers: Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith will return. 

Da Bears: Multiple sources telling us that offensive coordinator Mike Martz has resigned. 

UNC: Fedora is going the Steve Spurrier route with titles...Vic Koenning will be associate head coach for defense while Dan Disch will have the defensive coordinator title. We had already brought you the rest of the news...but to recap...Fedora hasn't hired his running backs coach yet. In addition to Koenning and Disch on defense he has Deke Adams at DL and David Duggan (LBs / special teams). Blake Anderson is offensive coordinator, Gunter Brewer is receivers / passing game coordinator, Chris Kapilovic for OL / run game coordinator and Walt Bell at tight ends. 

Austin Peay (FCS): Austin Peay State University in the Ohio Valley Conference is looking for a home game. October 20, 2012 or November 3, 2012. Interested parties contact Marcus Gildersleeve at or 931-221-7981.

North Greenville: Sources close to the decision makers tell us offensive coordinator Jim Beverly's interview went very well. Others are involved as well. Hear a decision could be made this week. 

Ohio State: We hear Murray State defensive line coach / strength coach Kenny Parker is joining the Ohio State strength staff as an assistant. 

Indiana: On Sunday we told you Seth Littrell was joining the staff. Today it has been confirmed that he will serve as offensive coordinator. Co-offensive coordinator Kevin Johns will now also coach the quarterbacks. 

St. Francis (NAIA - IL): Has a graduate assistant opening. Includes classes and a stipend. Must be a QB coach. Please email if interested. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

Weber State: Sources close to the program tell us Jason Belford, former WSU defensive grad assistant, will serve as defensive line coach. We have been told that the following coaches will not be retained: Jason Kafusi (DL), Jake Cookus (co-DC / STC), Brian Zeches (RBs), Tom Stackaruk (TEs) and Andre Dyson (Corners). 

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have named Rick Spielman their new GM. 

Urbana University (DII - OH): Urbana University is looking for an opponent on September 29, 2012. Urbana would like to have a home and home with the first game away and the opponent returning in 2013.

Arkansas Tech University (DII): Arkansas Tech has an open date: Home Game Only - September 6th (Thursday) or 8th (Saturday) 2012 during week 2. Arkansas Tech University is unable to play a Home and Home due to conference commitments.

Florida State: We just saw a note from Florida State that Mark Stoops has been given a one year extension and a $150,000 raise (putting his salary around $600,000). 

Chicago Bears: Mort just reported that GM Jerry Angelo has been released.

Fresno State: Thought we made this clear the other day...but so we're all on the same page. Utah running backs coach Dave Schramm is the new offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at Fresno State. 

Texas Tech: Sources close to the program tell us that while Tubs is still interviewing, these sources feel there is a very good chance that former UNC defensive coordinator Art Kaufman will become the new defensive coordinator. We'll keep you posted. 

Illinois / NC State: Yesterday we were told by two sources that Jon Tenuta had accepted the defensive coordinator position on Tim Beckman's staff. Late last night and this morning we were informed (and have confirmed) that NC State made a very strong attempt (the word "lucrative" was used twice) to retain him yesterday. We'll keep you posted. 

West Virginia: We are well aware of the discussion of Jeff Casteel possibly joining Rich Rod at Arizona. We've been told he'll announce his plans after the Orange Bowl. We have been told that Dana Holgorsen and Oliver Luck have made it very clear to him (i.e. a significant offer) that they want him to stay. 

Tennessee: Sources close to the program told us that staff members discussed several candidates with Dooley yesterday. As of 7pm last night, those sources tell us that no one had been offered the job yet. It wouldn't take long to offer this job to someone though. Dooley has a presser scheduled for 10AM to discuss. 

Jacksonville Jaguars: Local sources are reporting that the Jags asked, and received, permission to interview 5 candidates...Mike Mularkey of Atlanta, Brian Schottenheimer of the Jets, Rob Chudzinski of Carolina, Mike McCoy of Denver and Bill O'Brien of the Patriots. Interim head coach Mel Tucker will also receive consideration. 

San Diego Chargers: CBS Sports is reporting that both Norv Turner and GM A.J. Smith will be retained. We have not confirmed.
