Maryland: Auburn head coach Gene Chizik says it's possible that Maryland has reached out to Gus Malzahn.

San Francisco 49ers: writer Peter King just stated that Jon Gruden is not a candidate for the job, but the 49ers do have interest in Jim Harbaugh.

Maryland: SMU head coach June Jones interviewed for the head coaching job at Maryland, but has now removed himself from the search.

Northern Illinois: Ball State running backs coach Eddie Faulkner accepted the running backs job at Northern Illinois. Also, Wisconsin defensive quality control Kevin Kane has been hired to coach the tight ends / fullbacks.

Colorado: The Boulder Daily Camera reports Texas wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy has accepted the wide receivers job at Colorado. We have not confirmed this report.

Maryland: Sources close to the situation have confirmed to FootballScoop that Rich Rodriguez is NOT a candidate to fill the Maryland head coaching job.

Northern Colorado: We have learned that Earnest Collins has accepted the head coaching job at Northern Colorado.

UCLA: We hear Rick Neuheisel has interest in Florida safeties coach Chuck Heater for the defensive coordinator position.

University of Arkansas-Monticello: Our sources tell us that three Central Arkansas assistants will be following Hud Jackson to Arkansas-Monticello. Offensive coordinator Matt Middleton, defensive backs coach Keith Scott, and offensive quality control Scott Brezee will all join the UAM staff. 

Missouri Southern State University: in Joplin, MO is seeking applicants for a DB’s Intern Football Coach. This is an entry level position; applicants should be hard working and are looking to get started in college coaching. This position will include a competitive intern salary. The DB’s intern will be responsible for developing Corners in practice, running position meetings and involved in game planning. The Intern will also be involved in all aspects of recruiting – including having a recruiting area, making phone calls and being on the road. Other duties include film breakdown, film exchange and practice organization. Strong computer skills are a requirement. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree. No phone calls. Ball State: We have learned that Elon defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Jay Bateman is following Pete Lembo to Ball State. 

UW-River Falls: Our sources tell us UW-Whitewater assistant Kevin Bullis has turned down the UW-River Falls head coaching job.

Sacramento State: Our sources tell us offensive line coach Klayton Adams has been promoted to offensive coordinator.

Fort Hays State: We hear Northwestern Oklahoma State offensive line coach Justin Iske has accepted the offensive line job at Fort Hays State.
