Western Kentucky: We have now confirmed that Arkansas-Pine Bluff defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Alonzo Hampton has accepted the defensive backs job at Western Kentucky.

Hamline University: West Montgomery HS (NC) head coach John Pate accepted the head coaching job at Hamline University.

Nicholls State: Running backs coach / recruiting coordinator Chuck Hepola has added the title of assistant head coach. Offensive line coach Keith Uperesa has added the title of associate head coach.

Oklahoma Panhandle State University: is seeking all assistant football coaches/instructor of HPER/and support staff to lead an NCAA II program. Master’s degree required for HPER Instructors. Demonstrated successful coaching experience and technical competence in schemes at the collegiate or pro level required. The Coaches will be responsible for the positive development of all aspects of the football program. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop or understand competitive schemes for the football program, recruit quality student athletes of good character, be committed to student athlete academic success, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Strict adherence to NCAA II rules is required. Total support ams in the competitive range of OPSU is required. Salary is commensurate with background and experience. Western Kentucky: We are hearing that Arkansas-Pine Bluff defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Alonzo Hampton has interviewed for the defensive backs job at Western Kentucky. Also, our sources tell us that Willie Taggart may end up coaching the quarterbacks. Taggart has a position open on the offensive side with the departure of Mike Sanford to The Farm.

Arizona: Our sources tell us that head coach Mike Stoops will promote defensive grad assistant Ryan Walters to defensive backs coach.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans have added former Ole Miss defensive quality control Arthur Smith as a defensive assistant / quality control. Ole Miss has already filled the position vacated by Smith. Seattle Seahawks assistant offensive line coach Art Valero has also joined the staff as assistant offensive line coach. Chet Parlavecchio's title will be special teams assistant.

St. Joseph's College: Defensive coordinator Cory Sanders has been promoted to head coach.

Virginia Tech: Here's the deal. Brian Stinespring will remain the offensive coordinator, but Mike O'Cain will now call the plays. Stinespring will coach the tight ends / tackles. O'Cain will coach the quarterbacks. Offensive line coach Kurt Newsome will shift to interior line coach. Shane Beamer has added the title of associate head coach.

Illinois State: Our sources tell us that Wake Forest defensive grad assistant Dominic Anderson has accepted the defensive backs job at Illinois State.

Furman: We hear former Vanderbilt assistant Jimmy Kiser accepted the offensive coordinator position at Furman.

Valdosta State: We have learned that defensive line coach Earl Chambers and defensive backs coach Seth Wallace will now serve as co-defensive coordinators. Also, Georgia Southern defensive assistant Bubba Walker has been hired to coach the linebackers.

LSU: Our sources tell us that Les Miles will interview Stanford special teams coordinator Brian Polian for the same position at LSU.

South Carolina: We are hearing that John Butler will interview for the special teams coordinator job at South Carolina. Butler recently joined the Houston Texans staff as a defensive assistant. He served as the special teams coordinator / linebackers coach at the University of Minnesota this past season.

Bryant University: A Division 1 (FCS) School located in Smithfield, RI is looking to fill the position of Graduate Assistant—Defense. The position will start in August and will include stipend, housing, and tuition. Successful candidates must have the ability to gain admittance into Bryant University’s MBA program, which includes a score above 500 on the GMAT. Collegiate coaching/playing experience is preferred. Candidates must be highly motivated, comfortable with using CoachComm PowerEdit video software, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. LSU: Our sources tell us that former Miami (FL) defensive coordinator John Lovett will interview for the special teams coordinator position.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Despite reports, Mike Tomlin has not interviewed Chuck Cecil for the defensive backs job.

North Park University: in Chicago, Illinois is seeking to fill 2 graduate assistant coaching positions (preferably WR’s and DB’s) for the coming season. The positions include stipend and graduate school tuition waiver. Grambling State: Doug Williams has signed a 4-year contract as head coach.

Whittier College: Defensive coordinator Kirk Jellerson has been elevated to head coach. Also, Ventura College offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Todd Stratton offensive coordinator / assistant head coach.
