Mercer University: We have learned that former Furman head coach Bobby Lamb has accepted the head coaching job at Mercer University.

Alcorn State: We are trying to confirm, but we are told that Alabama State offensive coordinator Melvin Spears has landed the Alcorn State head coaching job.

St. Louis Rams: Josh McDaniels accepted the offensive coordinator job.

Seattle Seahawks: Pete Carroll has hired former Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable as offensive line coach and former Tampa Bay Bucs defensive line coach Todd Wash as defensive line coach.

Tulsa: Northern Colorado offensive coordinator Greg Peterson accepted the offensive coordinator / receivers job at Tulsa. Bill Blankenship has also hired former Colorado offensive line coach Denver Johnson. Former Northern Colorado head coach Scott Downing has also joined the staff as assistant head coach. It is unclear which position downing will coach.

Baltimore Ravens: John Harbaugh has promoted Chuck Pagano to defensive coordinator.

Michigan: Brady Hoke has hired Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Greg Mattison as defensive coordinator.

Southern Oregon: Arizona Cardinals quarterbacks coach Chris Miller, Ashland HS head coach Charlie Hall, Columbia HS head coach Craig Howard, and Central Washington special teams coordinator Stacy Collins are the four finalists for the head coaching job.

Texas Tech: Tommy Tuberville has received a 1-year extension and pay raise from $1.5 million to $2 million per year.

Michigan: San Diego State director of football operations Bob Lopez accepted the same job at Michigan.

San Diego State: Quarterbacks coach Brian Sipe, wide receivers coach LaCharls McDaniels, and corners coach Tony White will be retained.

Michigan: There is a report that Brady Hoke has talked with Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Greg Mattison about the defensive coordinator job at Michigan.

Minnesota Vikings: Mike Singletary accepted the linebackers / assistant head coach position with the Vikings.

Wisconsin: Central Florida defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable accepted the linebackers job at Wisconsin. Also, Wisconsin assistants Charlie Partridge and Chris Ash have been promoted to co-defensive coordinators.

Missouri Valley College: Our sources tell us that MacMurray College defensive line coach Justice Clegg accepted a grad assistant job at Missouri Valley College.

USC: Sources tell us USC wide receivers coach John Morton is leaving to join Harbaugh and the 49ers. 

Wisconsin: Reports out of Wisconsin are that head coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Paul Chryst have agreed to new contracts. Rubber stamp from the board of regents is expected in February. 

Seattle Seahawks: Offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates will not return. 

Pitt: Former Michigan wide receivers coach Tony Dews will coach the tight ends.

Purdue: Our sources tell us BYU wide receivers coach Patrick Higgins accepted the wide receivers job at Purdue.

Atlanta Falcons: Falcons' assistant Bill Musgrave will interview for the offensive coordinator job with Browns and Vikings.

Slippery Rock University: Football Coach – Linebackers or Defensive line. Work Schedule: As needed to be an effective assistant football coach. Job Summary/Basic Function: Assist head coach with organization and supervision of the football program including: recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success, compliance with NCAA, PSAC, and SRU rules and regulations; scheduling; practice and conditioning; scouting; budget management; fundraising activities and promotions; organizing and directing camps and clinics; other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; minimum of 2 years successful collegiate football coaching; recruiting experience; experience working with defensive line or linebackers; experience working with diverse populations; and successful performance in an on-campus interview required. Central Oklahoma: We have learned that Central Oklahoma offensive line coach Chase Harp has been promoted to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Miami (OH): We have just learned that Ashland University offensive coordinator / quarterbacks / wide receivers coach Mike Bath has accepted a position under Don Treadwell at Miami (OH).

Eastern Illinois: Our sources tell us that former Idaho State University defensive coordinator Brian Strandley has interviewed for the defensive line position at Eastern Illinois.

LSU: Our sources tell us that Les Miles has talked with Louisville offensive coordinator Mike Sanford and former Florida quarterbacks coach Scott Loefler.

Stanford: We hear head coach David Shaw has promoted wide receivers coach / passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton to offensive coordinator.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns will interview former Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt for the defensive coordinator job.

Temple: We hear New Hampshire defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach Sean McGowan has accepted a position at Temple.

Furman: Our sources tell us head coach Bruce Fowler has interest in Jacksonville State offensive line coach Scott Smouse.

Denver Broncos: We hear Jim Mora Jr has talked with John Fox about the defensive coordinator position.

San Jose State: We hear head coach Mike MacIntyre has interest in former Houston defensive line coach Jim Jeffcoat.
