Oakland Raiders: Tom Cable will not return as head coach.

Vanderbilt: We have confirmed that West Virginia running backs / slot receivers coach Chris Beatty has accepted a position at Vanderbilt. 

Clemson: Our sources tell us that Dabo Swinney is interested in Duke defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Marion Hobby. Before serving on the New Orleans Saints staff, Hobby coached with Swinney when Tommy Bowden was the Clemson head coach.

New Mexico: Our sources tell us that former UL-Lafayette offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Ron Hudson has accepted the offensive line / run game coordinator job at New Mexico. Mike Locksley has also hired Southeast Missouri State offensive coordinator / assistant head coach Vincent White as running backs coach.

Furman: Vanderbilt defensive grad assistant Mark Moehring has been hired as a defensive assistant. Tim Sorrells and Tony Elliott have been retained. Sorrells will serve as the quarterbacks coach / assistant head coach. Elliott will coach the wide receivers.

Michigan: AD Dave Brandon says he has NOT made a decision about Rich Rod despite the Fox 2 News (Detroit) report.

UCONN: The Hartford Courant is reporting Phil Fulmer is interested in the UCONN head coaching job.

BYU: Quarterbacks coach Brandon Doman has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Grad assistant Kelly Poppinga has been elevated to outside linebackers coach.

Vanderbilt: Our sources tell us that Hampton University offensive line / special teams coach Charles Huff has accepted the offensive quality control job at Vanderbilt.

University of Minnesota-Crookston: We hear that former Hamline University and St. Olaf College head coach Paul Miller accepted the offensive coordinator job at Minnesota-Crookston.

Maryland: UCONN special teams coordinator Lyndon Johnson is indeed going to Maryland.

CAL: Former Colorado assistant Ashley Ambrose accepted the defensive backs job at CAL.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns will interview St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.

Texas State: San Diego State defensive coordinator Rocky Long will interview at Texas State.

UCONN: Chuck Nienas will assist UCONN with their coaching search.

Clemson: TCU co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Justin Fuente will interview for the offensive coordinator job at Clemson.

Michigan: Fox2News in Detroit reports Rich Rod has been dismissed as head coach.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos will interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey for the head coaching job.

Texas: Multiple reports say Mississippi State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz is in Austin today to interview with Mack Brown.

Alabama: Two sources near the situation tell us that Clemson defensive ends coach Chris Rumph has accepted the defensive line job at Alabama. We have waited to post this information since getting our initial tip early this morning because Coach Saban doesn't usually move this quickly to fill open positions.

Vanderbilt: Our sources tell us that Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin has offered the defensive coordinator job to West Virginia defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel. At this point, according to our source, Franklin is unsure if Casteel will accept the position.

Miami (OH): Our sources tell us that head coach Don Treadwell has hired former Vanderbilt wide receivers coach Charlie Fisher as wide receivers coach / passing game coordinator.

Maryland: Sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Randy Edsall will retain defensive coordinator Don Brown and wide receivers coach Lee Hull.

Cal: We have learned that defensive backs coach Al Simmons has left the staff.
