Tulane: Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Dan Dodd has resigned. He will become the head coach / AD at Capistrano Valley Christian School in CA.

Pitt: Todd Graham has switched around some staff responsibilities. Tony Gibson moves from corners to defensive backs / pass defense coordinator. Randall McCray moves from safeties to outside linebackers. He will continue to serve as the special teams coordinator as well. Also, tight ends coach Tony Dews will now have the role of recruiting coordinator.

Illinois State: Louisville senior associate athletic director Gary Friedman accepted the AD position at Illinois State.

Midland University: is no longer accepting applications for the grad assistant positions.

Benedictine University: Our sources tell us the Occidental College defensive line coach / recruiting coordinator Phillip Kleckler has joined the staff at Benedictine University.

Chowan University: is scrambling to fill an open date on October 15th, 2011 (it has to be home) for Chowan University (D2; Murfreesboro, NC). Contact is Dennis Helsel... (252) 398-6244 / HelseD@Chowan.Edu. Chowan would travel in 2012.

Lenoir-Rhyne University: Mike Houston has signed a mult-year deal to serve as the head coach. Houston served the last four years as the defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach / assistant head coach. He will continue to lead the defense while serving as the head coach.

Southwest Minnesota State: We have learned that Millikin University special teams coordinator / linebackers coach / strength coach Anthony Kerr has accepted the linebackers job at Southwest Minnesota State.

Saint Anselm College: seeking one full time football coach - offensive line. The candidate should have experience coaching or playing in a zone-read or option offense and be willing to take the position and start as soon as possible. This, administrative, full-time 10 month position includes a salary between $15,000-$18,000 and full benefits with the following job duties: coaching their own position, practice planning, scouting, video analysis, skill and team instruction, all phases of recruiting and responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Northwestern: Pat Fitzgerald and Northwestern have finalized a new contract that goes through 2020. Financial numbers will not be released since Northwestern is a private university. In the off-season, Michigan had courted Fitzgerald, who was not interested in the job. Reportedly, the deal is worth around $1.8 million per year.
