L.A. Valley College (JC - CA): Per source, run game coordinator/tight ends coach Jason Vandiver has accepted the o-line job at LA Valley College. He will also be the co-offensive coordinator.

Virginia Tech: The Hokies have announced an extension for head coach Frank Beamer through January 1, 2019. AD Whit Babcock: "Announcing before our home opener serves as a tangible show of support (for Beamer)." Beamer is FBS's winningest active coach with 266 carrier victories. Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed; Beamer earned $2.428 million in 2013 according to USA Today.

Tennessee Tech (FCS): The school has announced an extension for head coach Watson Brown through the 2019 season. Brown is 33-46 entering his eighth season as head coach. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

Samford (FCS - AL): Head coach Pat Sullivan will not travel to Samford's opener at TCU due to health concerns. "My doctors have advised me not to travel at this time due to a complication from a surgery earlier this year," Sullivan said in a statement. This is the third consecutive season Sullivan has missed at least one game due to health reasons.

Western State (D-II - CO): Wyatt Henderson, who coached the receivers last year, has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Lynwood HS (Lynwood, CA).

Wisconsin-Platteville (D-III): Head coach Mike Emendorfer has been promoted to associate athletic director.

Shaw (D-II - NC): Deandre Okonji, who coached the receivers last season, has joined the coaching staff at Upland HS (CA) as the receivers coach / co-special teams coordinator.
