Montana State-Northern (NAIA): Deadwood (S.D.) High School head coach Ryan Gatch, Williamette (D-III - OR) offensive coordinator Kelly Bills and Missouri Valley College (NAIA) offensive coordinator Aaron Christensen have been announced as finalists for MSU-Northern's head coaching position. All three will be on campus next week for interviews.

UNLV: Tony Sanchez' agreement is four years at $500,000 per. Should he choose to leave he would owe UNLV $1 million if he leaves before Dec 15, 2016, $750,000 thereafter. If UNLV wants to buy him out, he would receive $250,000 per year that he has left on his contract. More details and incentives.

Florida A&M (FCS): The search committee has narrowed the candidate pool to eight coaches with the goal of submitting three finalists to President Mangum by December 17th. The eight are: Charlie Weatherbie, Joker Phillips, Willie Simmons, Corey Fuller, EJ Junior III, Mark Orlando, Latrell Scott and Tony Samuel.

Samford (FCS - AL): Per source, Murray State head coach Chris Hatcher will be the new head coach at Samford. Hatcher, who has previously served as head coach at Georgia Southern and Valdosta State as well, is expected to be named head coach tomorrow per source.

Wisconsin: Barry Alvarez said Wednesday evening he will consider coaching in the Badgers' bowl game. Wisconsin plays Auburn in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. He said he'd like to have Andersen's replacement in place before the bowl game. State law won't allow him to move as fast as he'd like; but Barry acknowledged that he has a list and will speak with a number of people tonight.

Oregon State: The Portland Tribune is reporting that Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen will be Oregon State's new head coach. We have confirmed. Update> Oregon State & Wisconsin have both now acknowledged the hire. Here's the story.

Susquehanna (D-III - PA): After 25 years leading the program, head coach Steve Briggs has decided to step down, and transition into a role in university relations for the school. Briggs is the school's all-times wins leader, going 127-126 during his time at Susquehanna. Offensive coordinator Nat Milne will serve as interim head coach until a new coach is named.

USA Today released the assistant coach salary database today, here's our take on it

Tennessee: According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, here are some relevant details of Butch Jones' new contract: a $4 million buyout if he leaves before Feb. 29, 2016, $3 million if he leaves from March 1, 2016 to Feb. 28, 2017, and $2 million thereafter. Jones will still receive $500,000 for winning a national title, $400,000 for a national championship appearance, $350,000 for reaching a semifinal, $300,000 for reaching a New Year's Six game, $200,000 a Citrus or Outback Bowl appearance, and $100,000 for any other bowl game.

Midland (NAIA - NE): Midland University is looking to fill two graduate assistant positions. The position is expected to start prior to spring practice but graduate work doesn’t begin until the fall. The position includes room, board, and tuition. Defensive playing and/or coaching experience is preferred but not required. If scheduling allows, initial interviews will take place at the AFCA Convention in Louisville. Email resume, references, and cover letter to head coach Josh Gehring at gehring@midlandu.edu.

Columbia (FCS - NY): Defensive coordinator Chris Rippon has been named interim head coach, and former head coach Ray Tellier has been hired as a special advisor to the program. In a letter to alumni, outgoing athletics director Dianne Murphy wrote that "it is my understanding" that the school will hire her replacement before hiring a new head coach. Combine this new soundbite along with the fact that they are waiting on a report from an outside consultant as well, and it sounds like this search could be stalled for a while.

Grove City (D-III - PA): Head coach Chris Smith has announced that he will retire following the 2015 season. Smith has led the football program for 31 seasons and is the all-time wins leader in school history. Grove City alum Andrew DiDonato has been chosen to succeed Smith as head coach in 2016 and will join the staff in January as offensive coordinator.

Northeast Mississippi CC: Per source, offensive coordinator Greg Davis and Tabor College defensive coordinator Steve Miller have both interviewed for the head coaching job. We also hear that Benjy Parker, the defensive coordinator at Northwest CC, was a strong candidate, but has removed himself from consideration.

Vanderbilt: Derek Mason initially reached out to former Stanford colleagues Mike Bloomgren (current offensive coordinator at Stanford) and Mike Sanford (current offensive coordinator at Boise State) to discuss his open offensive coordinator position according to sources. Sources tell us that Mason did not get the sense that Bloomgren was ready to leave Stanford for this opportunity. While we hear the door remains open for Sanford, who would likely stand to increase his salary 100% or more if he accepted the position, we do not know if Sanford is the only candidate Mason is considering at this time.

Nebraska: Oregon State associate athletic director for football operations Dan Van De Riet and director of player personnel Ryan Gunderson are joining Mike Riley's staff at Nebraska, according to a report from The Oregonian.

Sacramento State: Head coach Jody Sears has agreed in principle to a three-year contract extension, the school has announced. Sears took over the program as interim head coach in the spring of 2014 and led the team to a 7-5 record this year.

Michigan: ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports this morning that he has spoken with David Cutcliffe and Cut relays there was no contact from Michigan and that he is very content at Duke. Yesterday Michigan's 247 outlet reported that Michigan had reached out to Cutcliffe. Per our sources, Michigan has 10+ names on their list and has in person meetings planned with some of these for next week.

Troy: Tulane co-defensive coordinator Jon Sumrall's title at Troy has been announced as assistant head coach / defensive assistant.

Rowan (D-III - NJ): Hammonton HS (NJ) head coach Pete Lancetta has accepted the offensive line job at Rowan University, per source

Wisconsin-Stevens Point (D-III):UWSP is looking for multiple games in 2018 and beyond (open dates in the first four weeks). Would prefer at least a two year home and home contract. Looking for other Division III opponents. Contact head coach Tom Journell at tom.journell@uwsp.edu.
