Saginaw Valley (D-II - MI): Ohio Northern (D-III) defensive coordinator Adam Gonzaga will be the new defensive coordinator at Saginaw Valley per sources. 

Southern Utah (FCS): In addition to offensive coordinator Gary Crowton, Southern Utah has announced the hirings of offensive line coach Ken Miller, linebackers coach Rob Takeno and running backs coach Sam Lutui. 

Houston Texans: George Godsey is expected to coach the quarterbacks for Bill O'Brien's Texans per John McClain. 

Cologne Falcons (Germany): Sources tell us Wyoming defensive grad assistant Brian Michalowski has accepted the defensive coordinator position with the Cologne Falcons of the German Football League. 

Tennessee Titans: Bob Bostad (offensive line) Giff Smith (defensive line) and Kevin Patullo (assistant receivers) are all joining the Titans staff. 

Chapman (D-III - CA): Sources tell us former San Diego offensive line coach Cory White is now the assistant athletics director and offensive line coach at Chapman University. 

Albany: Per source, head coach Greg Gattuso is retaining coaches Ryan McCarthy (quarterbacks / passing game coordinator), Aaron Smith (receivers / recruiting coordinator), Matt Scott (outside linebackers / special teams coordinator) and Jeff Dittman will return as Director of Football Operations

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers have hired Mike Munchak as offensive line coach. 

Florida State: Charles Kelly has been promoted to defensive coordinator and Sal Sunseri will now have the title associate head coach / defensive line. 

Cleveland Browns: The Browns are down to two candidates for their open head coaching job, with Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine the favorite, according to Adam Schefter. Update> Sources confirm to FootballScoop that the Browns met with Greg Schiano today. Will update... Update> Alex Marvez and Ian Rapoport confirm that the Browns met with Schiano. Rap reports that his sources report back that Schiano is unlikely to get the job. 

Lehigh (FCS - PA): Sources tell us Kutztown (D-II - PA) head coach Drew Folmar will be the offensive coordinator at Lehigh. 

Coffeyville Community College (KS): Sources tell us Southern Miss defensive graduate assistant Mitchell Pate has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Coffeyville. 

New England Patriots: The franchise has announced that 30-year offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia will retire, and be replaced by former New York Jets (and Maryland) offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo. 

Dallas Cowboys: The club announced Mike Pope as tight ends coach today. 

Penn State: As planned, James Franklin has now officially brought Michael Hazel (director of football operations) and Andy Frank (director of player personnel) on board in the same capacity they had at Vandy. 

Northwestern Oklahoma (D-II): Sources tell us that Upper Iowa defensive backs / strength and conditioning coach Dan Lemke is joining the staff as defensive coordinator.

University of San Diego: Sources tell us Southern Illinois tight ends coach Jim Jackson will join the USD staff as offensive line coach.

Central Connecticut State: As we told you this weekend, Pete Rossomando has now officially been named head coach at CCSU. 

UAB: Sources tell us that Bill Clark plans to bring nearly everyone from his staff at Jacksonville State other than offensive coordinator John Grass (now HC at JSU). Drew Champlin, reporting from UAB, is confirming this is the case. 

New York Giants: Former Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Craig Johnson has been named the Giants' running backs coach. 

James Madison: JMU has hired Brandon Staley, defensive backs coach / defensive coordinator at John Carroll (D-III - OH), to serve as defensive coordinator.

Florida Tech (D-II):Florida Tech, is looking for a home game in the 2014 Season vs DII or NAIA and will return the game in 2015 or will pay guarantee. Our open date in 2014 is September 27. We also have several dates open for the 2015 season. If interested please contact Steve Englehart at

Air Force: The Gazette is reporting that Steve Russ will take over as the sole defensive coordinator next season. Russ served as the co-defensive coordinator last season as well as the inside linebackers coach.

Vanderbilt: Look for former Houston Texans / Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach (former UCLA head coach) Karl Dorrell's hire as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach to become official tomorrow. Also, San Jose State defensive coordinator Kenwick Thompson is joining the defensive staff (title to be determined, will be coaching the outside linebackers). Mason is building quite a staff.

Virginia Union (D-II): Virginia Union University is looking for a (preferably) home game on September 13, 2014. We would be willing to do a road game with the right team. Please e-mail me at if interested.

Arkansas State: Sources tell us that Valdosta State defensive grad assistant John Mohring has accepted a defensive GA spot at Arkansas State.

Maryland: Newly hired offensive line coach Greg DeGuglielmo is leaving for another NFL opportunity. Will update...

Siena Heights (NAIA - MI): Sources tell us that Eastern Michigan offensive graduate assistant Mike McGee will be the offensive coordinator and will coach the tight ends and inside receivers at Siena Heights University.

Mississippi College (D-III): John Bland has announced the additions of Michael Collins (defensive coordinator), Edgar Weiser (offensive line / special teams coordinator / recruiting coordinator), Jay Bright (quarterbacks), and Rod Smith (defensive line).

Georgia: Sources tell us South Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer is joining the Georgia staff. 

Whitworth (D-III - WA): Rod Sandberg has hired Adam Richbart as defensive coordinator. Richbart worked with Sandberg at Wheaton and coached the defensive backs from 2007-2011.

Lafayette (FCS - PA): The school has announced that head coach Frank Tavani has received a contract extension through the 2016 season. 

Cleveland Browns: The Browns will interview Atlanta offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter for the head coaching job, according to Alex Marvez.

Jersey Coast Academy (CC - NJ): Jersey Coast Academy is seeking a new head football coach to lead a rising junior collegiate football team. JCA invites applications for this position for our 3rd year DIV III junior college level program in Toms River, New Jersey. JCA offers post-graduate and junior collegiate level academic and athletic opportunities. Arkansas State: Allen Johnson has officially joined the staff and will coach the safeties. Johnson spent the past three seasons at Lamar as assistant head coach (2012-2013) and defensive coordinator (2011).

Concordia University (D-III - Chicago, IL): Alma College graduate assistant Matt Hassan has accepted a grad assistant position at Concordia.

Belhaven (NAIA - MS): Sources tell us Hal Mumme is bringing former Montana Tech offensive coordinator Corey Fipps in as co-offensive coordinator / offensive line. 

Northeast Mississippi (CC): Sources tell us Coffeyville defensive coordinator Paige Anders is the new defensive coordinator at Northeast.

Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta has hired former Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli as their new assistant general manager.

University of Mary (D-II - SD): Josh Kotelnicki has announced that Jason Thier has been hired as defensive coordinator. Thier served as the linebackers coach at North Dakota last season.

Virginia Tech: UConn athletic director Warde Manuel's name has surfaced as a finalist in the VA Tech athletic director search, according to the Hartford Courant. According to radio host Greg Roberts the other finalists include Cincinnati AD Whit Babcock, Texas women's AD Chris Plonsky, longtime James Madison AD Jeff Bourne, and Virginia Tech associate AD for football operations John Ballein.

Tennessee Titans: Ken Whisenhunt has chosen former Tampa Bay (and Arizona Cardinals) quarterbacks coach John McNulty to coach the quarterbacks in Tennessee, according to the Tennessean.

Jacksonville State (FCS): As we've indicated over the past few days, it is now official, offensive coordinator John Grass has been promoted to head coach.
