Texas Southern: We have learned that Texas Southern will promote Kevin Ramsey to interim head coach. Our source tells us that Tremaine Jackson will be promoted to defensive coordinator. We hear a search will take place.
College of Holy Cross: Bowdoin College defensive coordinator Tom Radulski has joined the staff as linebackers coach. Former Miami (OH) defensive line coach Antoine Smith accepted the defensive line job and Sacred Heart defensive coordinator Josh Reardon accepted the outside linebackers job.
Texas Southern: Our sources tell us that Johnnie Cole will not be back as the head coach. Cole has resigned as the head football coach.
West VirginiaWesleyanCollege: is seeking qualified applicants for a part time coaching position (wide receivers or linebackers). The selected coach will have his own position to coach and his own recruiting area. The position will pay a stipend plus room and board. There is no graduate school tuition or graduate school responsibility with this position. The selection process will begin immediately and if selected the individual will begin his duties on August 1st, 2011. This is a ten month position with two months off in the summer. Alabama: Contracts were approved for the new Alabama assistants. All three assistants and director of football operations Joe Pannunzio received 2-year deals. New salaries: Joe Pannunzio ($170,000), Mike Groh ($250,000), Chris Rumph ($288,750), Jeff Stoutland ($395,000). Raises were approved for four additional coaches. Burton Burns goes from $270,000 to $280,000. Jim McElwain goes from $410,000 to $510,000. Sal Sunseri goes from $350,000 to $390,000. Bobby Williams goes from $305,000 to $315,000. Alabama paid a $45,000 buyout to Clemson for Chris Rumph. If Rumph leaves Alabama, he would owe the athletic department $75,000.
Dickinson College: seeks a defensive line or linebackers coach / Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. This is a full-time 12 month exempt position. The successful candidate will coordinate a variety of programs with respective coaches to assess the specific strength/conditioning needs of our varsity teams. In addition to at least three years of experience at the collegiate level, the successful candidate is expected to be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as having current First Aid/CPR certifications. Candidates should possess the skills and experiences necessary to serve as a defensive position coach, preferably linebackers or defensive line. The assistant coach will be expected to evaluate opponents, contribute to game plans, organize and conduct practices. The assistant coach will also be required to recruit within the philosophy of NCAA Division III and a highly selective liberal arts institution. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred. Ithaca College: Our sources tell us Holy Cross linebackers coach / assistant special teams coordinator Mark McDonough accepted the defensive coordinator job at Ithaca College.
New Mexico: Head coach Mike Locksley has signed a new contract. Under the new contract, Locksley's buyout drops from $1 million to $450,000 if the school were to dismiss the head coach. However, the penalty for Locksley choosing to leave the school also been eliminated.
Minnesota State - Moorhead: Co-defensive coordinator Joe Lardinois will call the defensive schemes.
Central Missouri: Special teams coordinator / defensive backs coach Matt Jeter has been promoted to defensive coordinator.
