Please join us in praying for the family of former USC assistant Jim Stangeland who passed away on Saturday at 92. Stangeland coached on the Trojans' 1967 national title team under John McKay.

Northeastern State (D-II - OK): Northeastern State University has an opening for an offensive graduate assistant position. The primary coaching role will be with TE/Fullbacks. The position pays for graduate classes (6 hrs a semester) and a $6,000 stipend over 10-Months. Candidates need to have an undergrad GPA of at least 2.5 in HPK. Email resumes to riverhawksfootball@outlook.com. No phone calls please. The position will begin after Jan 1.

June Jones: June plans to "do one more turn-around somewhere and am going to coach five-to-seven more years" per Bruce Feldman. June attempted to explain a few things to Sports Illustrated as well saying, "I just kind of had a couple of weird things happen, but that was just because I hadn't been sleeping."

Ferrum College (D-III - VA): Defensive coordinator Phil Elmassian has stepped down due to health concerns.

Georgia:The Bulldogs have added Samford to their 2017 schedule for a $500,000 guarantee

The reality of Butch Jones and Michigan...and Tennessee

Northern Colorado (FCS): Running backs Terrance Robinson is no longer with the team. The athletics director has declined to comment on the reason for his departure. We are told he stepped down Sunday.

SMU: UTSA athletic director Lynn Hickey made the following statement on Larry Coker's name being attached to interest at the SMU coaching vacancy; "Since I don’t know anything about it, I don’t know that I have a level of concern. I am confident that Larry’s made a commitment to finish the program here and to reach some certain goals. I also know that any human being is going to make decisions that are best for his family, and he has a right to do that." -- Larry is a very good coach but to be honest, hiring Coker doesn't seem like the path Rick Hart is headed down.

Virginia State (D-II):Virginia State University is seeking a home football game on Sept. 12 2015. We would be willing to do a home and home with an interested school. If a one year game can be agreed upon a small guarantee could be negotiated. Please contact Vatel Dixon, Director of Player Personnel at football@vsu.edu or 804-524-5600 if there is any interest.
