Minnesota: Offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Matt Limegrover and defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will both earn $300,000 per year.

Ball State: There is a report that Ball State has come to an agreement with a coach. Our sources tell us it's not Brian Polian, Curt Mallory, or Mike Neu.

Gardner-Webb: Our sources tell us Chuck Amato and Mike Minter are interested in the head coaching job.

UL-Lafayette: Gulf Coast CC head coach Steve Campbell had decided to remain at Gulf Coast instead of joining Mark Hudspeth's staff. Last Friday, we reported, "Campbell may join the staff, but it is not a done deal."

Samford University: We have learned that Auburn offensive grad assistant Rhett Lashlee has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Samford University. We've been told to let the young coaches know that Gus has bigger things to worry about than filling the Auburn offensive GA position. Sit tight with the texts.

Pitt: Sources close to the situation tell us that Miami (OH) head coach Mike Haywood has just accepted the head coaching job at Pitt. We had confirmed earlier this afternoon that Haywood was in Pittsburgh.

University of Wisconsin – River Falls: We have learned the 5 finalists for the head coaching job are: Kevin Bullis (Wisconsin-Whitewater – special teams coordinator), Vince Kehres (Mount Union – defensive coordinator), Aaron Vicko (UW-Stevens Point – offensive coordinator), Joel Detwiller (Wartburg – defensive coordinator), Matt Walker (Butler University – tight ends).

New Mexico Military Institute: We have just confirmed that offensive coordinator Josh Lynn has now been hired as the head coach.

Angelo State: Here are the finalists for the head coaching job: Joe Cauthen (Valdosta State - DC), Adam Dorrel (NW Missouri State - OC / OL), Brad Franchione (Blinn JC head coach), Pierce Holt (former San Francisco 49ers players), Erick Leuter (Michigan Tech - OC), Will Wagner (NW Missouri State - DC).

Sacramento State: We have learned that Cal defensive grad assistant Taggert McCurdy has interviewed for the linebackers job at Sacramento State. 

Grinnell College: Jeff Pederson has been named head coach at Grinnell College after going 6-4 as the interim head coach this season.

Presentation College: an NCAA Division III member that competes in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Football Coach - Defense. Responsibilities will include coaching a position group on defense and assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program (practice and game preparation, recruiting, fundraising, video breakdown, camps, equipment, community involvement, and other duties as assigned). The successful candidate will have integrity and respect, excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with all constituents. This position will pay a stipend of $1200 a month, benefits, and on campus housing from Jan. 1- May 31; and will become a full time position with salary/benefits on June 1, 2011. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Prior football coaching or playing experience required. Interviews will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled. Pitt: There is a report that Miami (OH) head coach Mike Haywood has interviewed at Pitt.

Miami (FL): We have confirmed that Temple defensive coordinator / assistant head coach Mark D'Onofrio is going to Miami (FL) with Al Golden.

Minnesota State: We have learned that former South Dakota player David Hedges has accepted a grad assistant position at Minnesota State.

West Alabama: Our sources tell us that head coach Will Hall has promoted Sam Gregg to offensive coordinator / tight ends coach and Scott Harper has been named offensive line coach.

University of Montana Western: Morningside College (IA) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Ryan Nourse has accepted the head coaching job at Montana Western.

High School Scoop

Colorado: We hear Jashon Sykes will serve as the director of football operations.

North Texas: Dan McCarney will have a base salary of $475,000, but with radio/tv and a season completion agreement, McCarney will earn $545,000 before incentives. Incentives include $25,000 (Sun Belt championship), $15,000 (bowl game, but no Sun Belt championship), $10,000 (Sun Belt coach of the year), $25,000 (National coach of the year), $20,000 (Top 60 in the BCS), and $5,000 (certain academic honors).

Edmonton Eskimos: We hear special teams coordinator / assistant head coach Noel Thorpe, receivers coach Jason Tucker, and defensive backs coach Stacey Hairston will not return to the coaching staff.

Minnesota: Our sources tell us that only Thomas Hammock will be retained by new head coach Jerry Kill. Hammock coached the running backs last season for the Gophers. Jeff Horton, Tim Cross, Kevin Cosgrove, Tim Davis, Ronnie Lee, and Steve Watson will hopefully catch on at other places.

Western State: We hear Orv Otten (Iowa State support staff), Jim Williams (Illinois State special teams coordinator / recruiting coordinator), and Jeff Woodruff (Utep tight ends coach) are the finalists for the head coaching job at Western State.
