Cheney University: Our sources tell us former Widener running backs coach Terry Owens accepted the wide receivers job at Cheney University.

Southern Oregon: Columbia HS (FL) head coach Craig Howard accepted the head coaching job at Southern Oregon.

Syracuse: Quarterbacks coach / passing game coordinator Nate Hackett has been promoted to offensive coordinator. He will continue to coach the quarterbacks and tight ends. Tim Daoust will coach the defensive ends. Jimmy Brumbaugh will now coach the defensive tackles. John Anselmso will shift from defensive backs to linebackers / assistant head coach. He will coach the linebackers with Dan Conley. Defensive coordinator Scott Shafer will now coach the defensive backs, in addition to serving as the coordinator.

Indianapolis Colts: Our sources tell us the Colts have hired Richmond tight ends coach Devin Fitzsimmons.

Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals have now officially hired Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs coach Ray Horton as defensive coordinator.

Oklahoma State: Mike Gundy has hired Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks coach Todd Monken as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Monken recently shifted from wide receivers to quarterbacks at Jacksonville.

Temple: We have learned that former Florida quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler accepted the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks job at Temple.

Seattle Seahawks: Our sources tell us former Houston Texans assistant Robert Saleh has accepted the defensive quality control job on Pete Carroll's staff at Seattle.

Gardner-Webb: Our sources tell us Chris Foster has been retained as running backs coach and Bobby Godinez has been retained as defensive line / recruiting coordinator.

Concordia University (St. Paul): Defensive Line. POSITION: Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Line Coach. POSITION DESCRIPTION: NCAA Division II; Regular; Full-time position. RESPONSIBILITIES: The person in this position is responsible for coaching the defensive line. This will include all phases of the football program including coaching the defensive line, recruiting, managing academics for your position, assisting with the in-season and out-of-season player development. Duties are performed within the framework of the NSIC and NCAA rules and regulations. Alcorn State: We are hearing that Alcorn State head coach Melvin Spears is trying to lure Prairie View A&M running backs coach Vyron Brown to join his staff. Brown joined the Prairie View A&M staff just recently.

UNC: We hear Butch Davis has interest in San Jose State defensive line coach Jim Jeffcoat.

Tennessee Titans: We hear Houston Texans offensive assistant Bruce Matthews accepted the offensive line job with the Titans.

New Mexico Highlands: Our sources tell us that Washington State offensive grad assistant Sheldon Cross accepted the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks job at New Mexico Highlands.

Rice: We hear former Kentucky defensive backs coach Chris Thurmond interviewed at Rice.

Kentucky: AD Mitch Barnhart has received a 3-year contract extension through 2015 and raise to $600,000 annually.

New England Patriots: We are hearing that defensive backs coach Corwin Brown will not return.

Dartmouth College: We have learned the offensive coordinator position at Dartmouth College has opened up.

Davidson College: Our sources tell us that Princeton running backs coach EJ Henderson has accepted the special teams coordinator / wide receivers job at Davidson College.

Southern Miss: Our sources tell us that Larry Fedora has promoted offensive grad assistant Walt Bell to wide receivers coach. Robert Matthews has also been promoted to tight ends coach. Barney Farrar, who coached the tight ends this past season, will move to an off-the-field role. In addition, running backs coach Pat Washington has added the responsibility of special teams coordinator. Linebackers coach David Duggan added the title of co-defensive coordinator.

Montana: Ty Gregorak is returning to the Montana staff as linebackers coach. Gregorak served on the Montana staff from 2003-2009.

Nebraska: There has been a lot of talk about Bo Pelini's staff in the last week. The World-Herald is now reporting changes that are expected to be made include the departure of offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson and wide receivers coach Ted Gilmore. The paper reports Pelini is trying to help Watson land an NFL assistant position.

University of Houston: Former Vanderbilt defensive backs coach Jamie Bryant accepted the linebackers job. Leon Burtnett, who coached the linebackers this past season, has moved off-the-field. He will now serve as the director of player personnel.

Utah State: Head coach Gary Anderson has promoted defensive grad assistant Frank Maile to defensive line coach. Former Northern Colorado defensive backs coach Kendrick Shaver accepted the corners job. Former Utah players Kepa Gaison and Robert Conley have accepted quality control positions. Gaison will serve as the defensive quality control and Conley will serve as the offensive quality control.

Tennessee Titans: Offensive assistant Richie Wessman and defensive assistant Rayna Stewart will not return.

Arizona Cardinals: ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs coach Ray Horton will be in Arizona today to finalize a deal to become the defensive coordinator of the Cardinals. It appears former corner DeShea Townsend will serve as an assistant under Horton in Arizona.
