Texas: Manny Diaz accepted the defensive coordinator job at Texas.
Pitt: There is a report that Pitt has hired Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley as head coach. We have not yet confirmed the hire. Alabama linebackers coach Sal Sunseri reportedly interviewed for the job.
Miami (OH): Our sources tell us that Illinois State linebackers coach / assistant head coach Jay Peterson has accepted the linebackers job at Miami (OH).
Texas: LonghornDigest.com reports Mississippi State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Texas. We have not confirmed this information.
Texas State: There is a report that Oklahoma defensive ends coach Bobby Jack Wright is interviewing today at Texas State. Apparently, Dennis Franchione has withdrawn his name and the job is down to Rocky Long, Tim Brewster, Shawn Watson, and Bobby Jack Wright.
Frostburg State University: is seeking a Graduate Assistant Coach for Football-Wide Receivers. This position will also be responsible for providing athletic coaching, supervision, recruiting, academic monitoring, and other duties related to the sport of football as assigned by the head coach. The primary coaching role of this position is to coach, develop, evaluate and monitor the wide receivers. In addition this position will be responsible for kickoff and punt return specialists. Successful candidates must possess the ability to learn and utilize DSV Editing Software. Applicants must possess previous playing experience as a wide receiver. Bachelor’s degree required and 3.0 GPA to be admissible to desired graduate program if offered position. This position is granted 12 credit hours tuition waiver per term and 30 credit hours per 12 month cycle. A $2500.00 stipend is paid per semester. California University (PA): Our sources tell us that Concord University (WV) head coach Mike Kellar accepted the offensive coordinator position at California University (PA).
Denver Broncos: The Denver Post reports to Broncos will ask permission to interview New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. The Broncos will also interview NY Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
San Francisco 49ers: ESPN reports the 49ers will meet with Jim Harbaugh today.
Alabama: Defensive coordinator Kirby Smart has a new 3-year contract worth $850,000 per year. Smart does not have a buyout to become a head coach, but if he leaves for any other assistant coaching job, he'll owe $72,000 to Alabama.
Savannah State: Our sources tell us The Citadel slot backs coach Everette Sands has interviewed for the head coaching job at Savannah State.
FIU: AD Pete Garcia says head coach Mario Cristobal will be offered a new contract extension, but formal talks have not started.
