USC: According to USC's latest federal tax filing (obtained by USA Today), in 2010 Lane Kiffin was paid $2.4 million and Monte made over $1.5 million...making him the highest paid assistant in the country.

South Alabama (FCS): Sources tell us Birmingham Southern (D-III) offensive line coach Chase Smith will join the South Alabama staff as director of football operations.

Southern Virginia: SVU is no longer accepting applicants for it's offensive assistant position.

Houston Texans: We hear the Texans have hired Montana offensive line coach Bob Beers, Sr. as a scout. Beers was the western regional scout for the Texans for several years before agreeing to join Robin Pfulgrad's staff at Montana in 2010.

Montana: We hear Montana will likely move tight ends coach Scott Gragg to offensive line and look to hire a tight ends coach.

Christopher Newport: Quarterbacks coach Ed Davis has changed his mind regarding the Valley Forge head job and will remain on staff at CNU.

Muskingum University: Muskingum is no longer accepting resumes / applications for their grad assistant position.

Grad Assistant of the Day - Ryan McManus

Drake (FCS): Head coach Chris Creighton has announced that Dain Taylor has been hired to coach the defensive line coach. Taylor returns to his alma mater where he was an All American at defensive end in 2010.

Notre Dame: According to the Chicago Tribune, AD Jack Swarbrick's annual compensation (for the reporting year of July 2010 - June 2011) was approximately $1.027 million. During that same year, Notre Dame made a "termination payment" of over $2 million to Charlie Weis...this is on top of the $6.6 million they paid him at the time he was let go. The Tribune reports that Weis' separation agreement calls for additional annual payments through December 2015. Think about that.
