Army and Navy trot out special uniforms for their game every year, mining the respective institution's traditions to highlight a specific portion with each new year.
UCF is jumping in on the action now, too.
The school has used its proximity to Cape Canaveral, 55 miles due east of Orlando, to market itself as the School of Space. The University of Central Florida was founded in 1963 as Florida Technological University, a supporting institution for the nearby Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral.
Last year, the Knights wore lunar-style helmets against East Carolina.
The final product, though, was kinda hard to see from the field.
On Wednesday, UCF revealed this year's space kits, and they're taking it a bit further this year.
The 2018 edition, dubbed "Reach for the Stars," stretches beyond the moon to encompass the entire night sky.
The constellation pattern, shown below, will adorn the shoulders, neckline and pants and helmet stripe.
The uniform will also bring back the Citronaut, the school's unofficial first mascot that first appeared in 1968 and has popped up on soccer and baseball uniforms in the passing years, but never before football. (Honestly, UCF would've scored much higher on FootballScoop's FBS Nickname Rankings had they stuck with Citronauts.)
