UCF's Spring Game helmets featured decals with a special touch from the Orlando Children's Hospital (spring game)

Spring games have really become showcases for individual creativity the last several years.

Over the years we've seen teams put player's social media names on the backs of jerseys and do a number of other things that would never happen come fall.

UCF took their unique spring game twist in a more heartwarming direction.

During a visit to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, UCF players sought input from the kids undergoing care of how to make their Spring Game more special.

The idea they came away with was UCF players and kids working alongside each other to put their own creative spin on the UCF logos of the knight head and alternate Citronaut heads.

Their finished products would then make it onto their helmets as decals.

The result was something both unique and touching.

“Giving back to our community is a huge part of who we are as a program, so we’re excited to have our players represent the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in this unique way in our Spring Game,” Gus Malzahn shared in the school's release.

Over the last several years, "The Wave" at Iowa has become a really special moment shared between the Hawkeyes, the visiting teams and the Children's Hospital rooms that have the unique view into Kinnick Stadium, and here's to hoping that UCF adopts in a new partnership with the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children - one of the top children's hospitals in the country for more than a decade -for a new annual tradition.
