Chip Kelly plans to make Akron offensive coordinator Billy Fessler UCLA's new quarterbacks coach sources shared with FootballScoop Wednesday.
Fessler has served as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks at Akron the past two seasons.
The former Penn State quarterback (2014-18) has also put in work at Mississippi State and Ohio State.
At UCLA, Fessler is stepping into the role manned by Ryan Gunderson who left in early December to become offensive coordinator at Oregon State.
Akron is moving quickly to bring in one of the top FCS play-callers to fill Fessler's role.
